WeAreSC On3 3/14/23: Projans on the Move, Peterson Injury Update, and Baseball Takes Down Stanford
WeAreSC On3 is a daily three-point briefing recapping news and notes surrounding USC Athletics. Today, we take a look at several Trojans being on the move during the start of NFL free agency, an update on Drew Peterson’s injury status, and USC Baseball taking down No. 2 Stanford.
Projans on the Move
NFL free agency has officially begun, and with it, several Trojans are on the move. On Friday, former USC wide receiver Robert Woods signed a two-year deal with the Houston Texans.
After winning a Super Bowl with the Los Angeles Rams in 2021, Woods spent this past season with the Tennessee Titans.
Then yesterday, former USC quarterback Sam Darnold signed a one-year contract with the San Francisco 49ers.
Darnold is expected to provide the team with additional quarterback depth behind Brock Purdy and Trey Lance.

Peterson Injury Update
Yesterday, Ryan Kartje of the Los Angeles Times reported that USC’s Drew Peterson was a full participant in yesterday’s practice. According to Kartje, Peterson should be “a lot closer to 100%” for USC’s NCAA Tournament matchup then he has been for the past few weeks.
The No. 10-seed Trojans take on No. 7-seed Michigan State on Friday in Columbus, Ohio.
Baseball Takes Down Stanford
Over the weekend, USC Baseball welcomed No. 2 Stanford to Dedeaux Field. The Trojans won two of three games against the Cardinal, marking their first series win over Stanford since 2015.
The Trojans are back in action tomorrow night when they visit Cal Poly. USC will then head up to Berkley this weekend for a three-game series against Cal.
