USC, which fell to Michigan State in the first round of the tournament, came in at number 28 on the list.

Despite the disappointing end to the Trojans’ season, USC fans can take solace in the fact that conference rivals UCLA and Arizona suffered far more painful losses. The Bruins—who fell 79-76 to Gonzaga in an instant classic Sweet 16 matchup—ranked third in the Pain Index. Meanwhile, the Wildcats—who were stunned by No. 15-seed Princeton in the first round—came in at number two.
Pitcher of the Week
Following his impressive performance against Utah on Friday night, USC’s Tyler Stromsborg was named the Pac-12 Pitcher of the Week. He is the first Trojan since 2019 to earn such honors.
Stromsborg pitched a complete game shutout against the Utes, allowing just five hits.
