A daily three-point briefing recapping the news and notes of USC athletics. Today it’s a promotion for Michael Hutchings, recruits getting another opportunity to see USC, and full comments from athletic director Mike Bohn and interim head coach Donte Williams.

Hutchings’ promotion

Former USC linebacker Michael Hutchings has been a mainstay with the Trojans for several years. He’s filled roles as both a graduate assistant and quality control analyst, beginning his coaching tenure with the Trojans in 2018. With the dismissal of Clay Helton, USC had a fulltime coaching position to fill and Hutchings got the nod yesterday. Hutchings will continue to work with the linebackers.

Recruits coming back to USC

Because of the change at head coach, recruits who have already taken an official visit to USC will have an opportunity to use a second one. WeAreSC’s Scott Schrader has received word from a number of Trojan targets stating that they plan to or are seriously considering taking advantage of that.
