WeAreSC On3 is a daily three-point briefing recapping the news and notes of USC athletics. In today’s edition, USC hoops on the road, a former Trojan signs with Seattle and a prediction for a top target.

USC Hoops on the Road

USC Athletic Director Mike Bohn brought a phenomenal March Madness idea with him from his previous stops. USC’s first game in the tournament will take place Friday, all the way across the country in Greenville, South Carolina. As a way of saying thanks to the community for hosting them, some of the Trojans’ traveling contingent visited Sterling Middle School, ranked the No. 1 middle school in the state. It’s a really smart, worthwhile way to spread the message of the Trojan Family and make a positive impact on small part of a community that otherwise would likely never experience it. Even if all it did was remind people in the state that there’s a real USC and a U of SC? That’s great. And if it converts some small South Carolinians into real USC fans? Even better.

Uchenna Lands With Seattle

Former USC standout Uchenna Nwosu has a new home. The First-Team All-Pac-12 performer in 2017 spent the first four years of his professional career with the Los Angeles Chargers after being selected with the 48th pick in the 2018 NFL Draft. On Tuesday, Nwosu signed a two-year, $20 million deal with the Seattle Seahawks that will pay him $10.5 million in guaranteed money.

It’s the first time the former Harbor City (Calif.) Narbonne and USC star will regularly play football outside of Los Angeles. Seattle head coach Pete Carroll has often made the Seahawks a home for former USC players. Former USC defensive lineman Rasheem Green was the only Trojan on the roster before this season, so the Seahawks were running dangerously low. Uchenna and Green were part of the same 2018 draft class, taken 31 picks apart.

Prediction In For Josh Conerly Jr.

Class of 2022 offensive tackle Josh Conerly Jr. is one of two big-time 2022 prospects who remain unsigned. He is coming off an official visit to Oregon and will take his fifth and final visit to USC later this month. He is an absolute must-get prospect for USC, which has not yet signed an offensive lineman in the 2022 class. Yesterday, WeAreSC’s Scott Schrader submitted the first expert prediction for Conerly and his eventual destination.

The 6-foot-5, 283-pound Conerly is the No. 40 overall prospect in the 2022 On3 Consensus. If he ultimately signs with USC, he’d be the fourth top-70 prospect in USC’s 2022 recruiting class. Conerly would join Five-Star Plus+ cornerback Domani Jackson, four-star safety Zion Branch and four-star athlete Raleek Brown.
