WeAreSC On3: USC hoops schedule, several new offers and an update with a 5-star QB target

A daily three-point briefing recapping the news and notes of USC athletics. Today it’s a look at the announced USC basketball schedule, recapping some new USC offers, and an in-depth update with a 5-star quarterback.

USC Hoops Schedule

USC announced its men’s basketball schedule and TV listings on Wednesday. Thirty of the 31 games are already assigned a network, with just the Nov. 13 trip to Temple awaiting a landing spot. USC’s season tips off against CSUN on Nov. 9. WeAreSC’s Rich Ruben visited USC’s practice on Tuesday and emerged with an in-depth breakdown of what Trojan fans might be able to expect this season.

New Offers Go Out

Interim head coach Donte Williams promised that he won’t stop working on recruiting during his time leading the Trojans. USC has landed three commitments since he’s taken over and extended a few new offers on Thursday morning.

Class of 2022 athlete Arlis Boardingham (Van Nuys, Calif./Birmingham) is a 6-foot-4, 220-pound jumbo athlete who can do a bit of everything on the field. He leads the team with 19 receptions for 246 yards and four touchdowns. Defensively, he has 18 tackles, two sacks and a fumble recovery returned for a touchdown. He also returns kickoffs and has a rushing touchdown.

Class of 2023 tight end Jackson Bowers (Mesa, Ariz./Mountain View) took an unofficial visit to USC this past weekend and collected an offer on Thursday. The 6-foot-5, 225-pound prospect is regarded as one of the top tight ends in the country.

USC also got in early on wide receiver Lavon Brown (Las Vegas/Desert Pines). The offer from the Trojans the second for the 6-foot-1, 180-pound, 2023 prospect. Arizona was the first to offer.

Update with Nico Iamaleava

USC will need to work to hold onto the commitment from 2022 prospect Devin Brown (Draper, Utah/Corner Canyon, who has received offers from Ole Miss and UCLA following the dismissal of Clay Helton. But one of the biggest targets regardless of class right now is 2023 quarterback Nico Iamaleava.
