Each week me and our impressive intern from USC’s Anneneberg School of Communications hop on Zoom. At that time we recap some of the interesting USC storylines of the week for our YouTube audience.

The topics Dylan and I touched on this past week were as follows:

Tre’Quon Fegans Official Visit, Anquon Fegans Offered

Two weeks ago WeAreSC followed up with Fegans to check if USC was a likely official visit. We also asked if there was potential dates for the visit?

“May 5,” was his reply.

While the USC official visit wasn’t set in stone at that point, WeAreSC learned today it was on Monday.

“I will be there May 5,” Fegans confirmed on Tuesday morning.

The odds have been extremely high the Trojans end up with a high profile transfer who visits, so stay tuned USC fans.

Fegans played high school football at Oxford (AL) Thompson, where he was a four-star prospect. He was the No. 142 overall recruit in the 2022 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Rankings, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Jason Zandamela Locks in June USC Official Visit

Clearwater (Fla.) Academy International four-star offensive lineman Jason Zandamelavisited USC in early April. Nearly immediately after that visit, he decided he would take an official visit, as Scott Schrader reported at that time.

Now, Zandamela has locked in the date he will be on that official visit and lucky for USC, he will tag along with an expected 10+ official visitors on the weekend of June 16. That weekend is expected to be the largest visit weekend of two in the month.

Zandamela is the No. 127 overall prospect and No. 7 interior offensive lineman in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 20 player in Florida.

What Zandamela told On3 previously about USC

“Their culture and I’m a big fan of their current center,” Zandamela told On3’s Chad Simmons on March 5 about why he is interested in USC. “I watched his tape a lot because I almost revolve my game around how he plays it. I really like how coach (Josh) Henson coaches.”

USC Leads for 4 Top O-Lineman On3’s RPM

One of the most interesting facets of On3 is taking a look at the Recruiting Prediction Machine to see who is favored to land at certain schools. As of right now, USC is currently the favorite for about 20 prospects in the 2024 class.

Four of them are offensive lineman. Two of them are interior while the other two are tackle prospects. DeAndre Carter, Isaiah Garcia, Justin Tauanuu and Marquise Thorpe-Taylor.

For clarity, the On3 RPM simply predicts where a prospect will land, it is not a guarantee nor a perfect reflection of any specific recruitment, however, it can be a useful resource.

ESPN Spring Power Rankings (Top 10)

ESPN’s Mark Schlabach updated his spring Top 25 Power Rankings on Wednesday and USCreceived a fairly significant bump. The Trojans were No. 7 heading into spring ball and before this second transfer portal window. USC is now Schlabach’s No. 4 team.

The Trojans are his pretty clear favorite in the Pac-12. But the strength of USC’s schedule this season is again evident. The Trojans will play the teams ranked Nos. 12, 13, 14 and 15 in Schlabach’s list. In order, those are WashingtonNotre DameUtah and Oregon

GeorgiaMichigan and Florida State are the three teams ahead of USC. All three were ahead of the Trojans in the first edition of this ranking, prior to the spring. Ohio State fell from No. 2 to No. 5. Alabama went from No. 5 to No. 6 and Penn State dropped from No. 6 to No. 8 as a result of USC’s rise.
