With the final On300 rankings update Thursday, the class rankings were also pretty much finalized heading into Wednesday’s National Signing Day. While there are still some top-300 recruits waiting to announce decisions, there are too few to produce a real change in the rankings. Just three of the On300 prospects remain unsigned at this point.

USC sits at No. 15 in the 2025 On3 Industry Rankings. The Trojans landed one five-star, eight four-stars and 13 three-stars. USC is still in the mix for four-star linebacker AJ Tuitele, which would improve the class but it’s tough to see him leaping the Trojans ahead of Penn State at No. 14.

That is a three-spot rise from last season when USC finished No. 18. And it marks back-to-back No. 5 recruiting class in the Big Ten. That’s not a spot where the Trojans want to be consistently, though the top three in that group are now among the top handful of NIL spenders in the nation, in Oregon, Ohio State and Michigan.

USC’s ranking drop a bit when looking at the average rating of its signees. The Trojans are No. 18 there, the same position they held in the 2024 class. USC drops even lower when looking specifically at blue chip ratio (the number of four and five-star prospects as a percentage of the class). USC is No. 22 there. And the in-state ratio is one that always gets discussed with head coach Lincoln Riley and the Trojans. Just 23% of USC’s class is from California. Texas is at 60% from Texas. Georgia has 75% from Georgia. Florida has 44% from Florida. Taking a quick look at 2026, five of USC’s 8 commits (63%) are from California.
