Where USC's top remaining targets rank after updates
Yesterday, July 10, On3 updated the On300 rankings, which in turn adjusted the On3 Industry Rankings. The industry rankings are comprised of averages between On3, 247 Sports, Rivals, and ESPN. USC has only a handful of targets left on the board.
Here is where they stand in the rankings after the updates.
RB Taylor Tatum
As has been talked about at length for a couple months now, Tatum is the lone remaining running back target on the board. He is set to commit July 21, picking between USC and Oklahoma.
Following the On3 rankings updates, Tatum remains the No. 1 running back in the 2024 class. He currently sits at No. 35 overall.
The On300 ranks him as the No. 3 running back this cycle and the No. 45 overall prospect in the class.
WR Mike Matthews
Matthews is in a three or four team recruitment to this point with a decision expected in the coming weeks. USC became a real factor this summer aided by a very successful official visit to Los Angeles. Tennessee is considered the favorite and Clemson has also had some buzz. Georgia is also present.
Following the On3 rankings updates, Matthews, a five-star prospect, is the No. 14 overall prospect in the nation and the No. 4 wide receiver.
The On300 ranks him as the No. 32 overall prospect and No. 6 wide receiver.
DL Eddrick Houston
Houston has a top five of USC, Ohio State, Alabama, Clemson, and Georgia. Ohio State appears to be the leader, but USC has gotten some talk in recent weeks among national media. He is set to announce his commitment August 22.
Following the On3 rankings updates, Houston, a five-star prospect, ranks as the No. 21 overall prospect and No. 4 defensive lineman in the 2024 class.

The On300 ranks him as the No. 56 overall prospect and No. 9 defensive lineman.
DL Aydin Breland
Breland’s top schools in his recruitment include USC, Oregon, Miami, Georgia, Texas A&M, and others. Oregon has received plenty of buzz, but USC is still in this one for the Mater Dei monster.
Following the On3 rankings updates, Breland, a five-star prospect, ranks as the No. 26 overall prospect and No. 6 defensive lineman in the 2024 class.
The On300 ranks him as the No. 26 overall prospect and No. 6 defensive lineman as well.
LB Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa
Viliamu-Asa is set to announce his commitment in about two weeks and USC, Ohio State, and Notre Dame are the names involved. The Buckeyes have been talked about quite a bit recently, but the Trojans are working hard to land the Bosco standout.
Following the On3 rankings updates, 109 overall prospect and No. 8 linebacker in the 2024 class.
The On300 ranks him as the No. 27 linebacker in the class. He is not ranked inside the top-300 prospects.
OT Fox Crader
Crader has been committed to Oregon since November and while there has been no indication he will decommit, he has remained a target for USC. He officially visited this summer.
Following the On3 rankings updates, Crader ranks as the No. 193 overall prospect and No. 16 offensive tackle in the 2024 class.
The On300 ranks him as the No. 204 overall prospect and No. 18 offensive tackle.
