About WeAreSC
WeAreSC was founded in 1998 by Garry Paskwietz, a pioneer in both internet and individual team site coverage. WeAreSC has been part of the Rivals, Scout and ESPN networks and now joins the On3 team.
After Paskwietz sadly passed away in 2019, the WeAreSC legacy continued on under the leadership of fellow USC alum Erik McKinney.
McKinney began covering the USC program under Paskwietz’ guidance in 2004 and brings best-in-class team coverage to WeAreSC, attending every practice, press conference and game. McKinney, who also has served as ESPN.com‘s Pac-12 recruiting reporter, is an accomplished writer and reporter.
The WeAreSC team is bolstered by the addition of Scott Schrader, widely considered the best recruiting reporter covering the Trojans.
Schrader formerly worked for WeAreSC as well as 247 Sports before launching his own site, USC Scoop.
Schrader and McKinney are joined by respected and veteran columnists Marc Kulkin and Greg Katz, as well as other members of the WeAreSC and USC Scoop staffs.
The site is a founding affiliate of On3, a college sports network which was launched in August of 2021 by the former founders of Rivals.com and 247Sports.
“I’m ready to take it to the next level,” dogged recruiting reporter Schrader said. “I will be traveling coast to coast to bring USC fans the recruiting coverage they will only get from us.”
Schrader is not the only one who is excited about the future of WeAreSC.
“I’m happy to be joining up with Scott, who is as good as it gets when it comes to covering USC recruiting,” McKinney said. “I look forward to sharing our content, knowledge and passion for Trojan football, recruiting and athletics with USC fans.
”This will be a new phase for WeAreSC, which will carry on the proud tradition and legacy of the site started by Paskwietz more than 20 years ago. We hope you come along for the ride.
