As a Recruit
Personal Life
Will Anderson Jr. was not born to be a football player. “I used to suck at football when I was little — literally, I was terrible,” Anderson told The Athletic. “I was horrible.” But he worked his way into a star at Hampton (Ga.) Dutchtown. As a senior, Anderson earned first team all-state honors from the Atlanta Journal-Constitution after notching 22 sacks and 15 tackles for loss. He left high school as a consensus five-star recruit according to the On3 Consensus. He demonstrated his ability right away at Alabama and won the Shaun Alexander-FWAA Freshman of the Year award. Anderson is the son of Will Anderson and Tereon Anderson. He also has five older sisters: Shawnta, Shanice, Chyna, Endia and Teria. He enjoys volunteering with Habitat for Humanity.
