OU football has a new face on YouTube to break down all things Sooner football. This week our Eddie Radosevich and George Stoia are back for another YouTube practice report, as the Sooners enter the halfway point of the season.

It’s the bye week and OU is 6-0, coming off a big win over formerly No. 3 Texas. Now the No. 5 team in the country, OU is enjoying a week off after an emotional win over its rival. For many Sooners, it was their first time playing in the Red River Rivalry.

“I was confused because they told me the stadium was in the middle of the fair,” Indiana transfer linebacker Dasan McCullough said. “What does that even mean? Middle of the fair? I was so confused. I was trying to imagine it all week without looking it up because I wanted to just see it. So when we got there and saw the buses literally pulling into the fair, I was so confused. The atmosphere was crazy.”

OU did have some bad news coming out of the game, losing lead receiver Andrel Anthony for the season to an ACL injury.

“It’s tough,” coach Brent Venables said. “You hate it for him. We have other guys. You hate it for Andrel and how hard he’s worked. We got to 6-0. He had a big part in helping us get there.”

Still, players and media are still re-living the game this week with no game on Saturday. Many of the players were asked Monday about some of the biggest plays, including left tackle Walter Rouse blocking two defenders on the game-winning touchdown.

“It’s basically the basis of our job, and so I just stuck out two hands there, and I was just trying to protect with all I could,” Rouse said. “What they preach here, what they’ve been preaching here since I got here is the ‘uncommon effort,’ and that whole drive was uncommon effort. I was just trying to do my absolute best to protect as much as I could. That’s really all it was; there wasn’t any secret to it.”

Lastly, the talk of social media this week is OU linebackers Danny Stutsman and Jaren Kanak. The two got matching horns down tattoos on Sunday. Though, Stutsman said Monday they’re apparently fake.

“They have enough things to worry about,” Venables said of his two starting linebackers. “They need to get their hair fixed first.”
