Personal Life
Emeka Egbuka first burst on the national youth athletics scene in a very unique way. Egbuka was the MLB Pitch, Hit & Run national champion for seven and 8-year-olds in 2011. But Egbuka didn’t peak there. He evolved into a five-star wideout at Steilacoom (Wash.) High, which was also the high school his mother attended. He was the 2019 Gatorade Player of the Year for Washington. He did not play his senior season because Washington moved its 2020-21 season to the spring because of the COVID-19 pandemic and Egbuka enrolled early at Ohio State. As a freshman, he earned All-Big Ten honorable mention for his work on special teams. He is majoring in accounting. He is the son of Henry Egbuka and Rhonda Ogilvie. His stepfather is Eric Ogilvie. Henry Egbuka is an immigrant from Nigeria who was a soccer player in his youth.
