2023 Pac-12 Baseball Tournament field, schedule are set
The Pac-12 Baseball Tournament has been set and for the first time, has expanded its field to nine teams.
Adding a ninth team has forced the conference to realign its tournament format. It will now feature a three-team round-robin for the first round. Divided into three separate pools, the team with the best record, along with a wild-card team will advance to a single-elimination semifinal and subsequent championship game.
The wild-card team will be determined by which team has the best record out of the teams that did not win their pool. Tiebreakers will be awarded to the team seeded the highest.
Top-seeded Stanford is the team to beat in this year’s conference tournament — and a favorite to potentially win the College World Series. Washington and Oregon State round out the rest of the top seeds in each pool.
Last season, Stanford came away with the inaugural Pac-12 baseball tournament championship. As the No. 1 seed, they took down No. 2 seed Oregon State 9-5 in the title game.
The tournament pools will break down as followed: Pool A will include seeds 1, 6 and 9 with Pool B has seeds 2, 5 and 8, while Pool C consists of seeds 3, 4 and 7. Every team will play at least two games. Click here for more information.
