2024 Four-Star SG Ahmad Nowell names top 4 schools

Philadelphia (Pa.) Imhotep Institute four-star shooting guard Ahmad Nowell is down to four schools, he tells On3.

Moving forward, the 6-foot-1, 185-pound rising senior will consider Connecticut, Georgia Tech, Kentucky, and Tennessee.

Nowell discusses each of his final four schools in an exclusive interview here (On3+).

Nowell has officially visited each of his finalists, besides Kentucky. He currently does not have a date scheduled to visit the Wildcats and says he plans to make a decision sometime after EYBL’s Peach Jam, which concludes in early July. The Philly native is currently averaging 13.7 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 4.8 assists per game for Team Final (16-1) on the EYBL Circuit.

According to the On3 Industry Rankings, Nowell is the No. 40 overall prospect in the 2024 cycle. The the On3 Industry Ranking is a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Nowell discusses his game, what he’s looking for in a school

In a previous interview with On3, Ahmad Nowell broke down his game and said what he’s looking for in a future program.

“I’d say I’m an all-around player,” Nowell told On3. “I can rebound, pass, score it; I’m an overall leader, whatever the team needs me to do in order to win. I watch a lot of different guys, the handle like Kyrie (Irving), the shooting like Damian Lillard, and the dog like Jimmy Butler. I’m a natural winner.”

Nowell also knows what he’s looking for in a college.

“The play style of the team will play a big factor for me. I want to go to a school that runs a lot of ball screens and a lot of good actions. Play for a coach that gives his guards the freedom to make plays within structure.

“I’ll look at the coaching style of the coach and the brotherhood, the bond the team has as well. Player development will be big because I definitely want to get better throughout my college career. The history of guys at my position, if they get their players to the NBA. That is my ultimate goal for me, be an NBA point guard one day.”
