Four-Star C Jazz Gardner commits to Nevada

Jazz Gardner, a four-star center in the class of 2023, has committed to Nevada, he told On3.
“I am excited to attend the University of Nevada, where I believe I can achieve my goals and contribute to the team’s success,” he said to On3. “The coaches and players have made me feel welcome, and I am confident that I can help the team win next season.”
The 7-foot big man out of Stevenson Ranch (Calif.) West Ranch chose the Wolfpack over a final group of Florida State, San Francisco, Ole Miss and Oregon. Additionally, he received offers from Texas Tech, USC, Kansas, Houston, Illinois, and others.
Gardner ranks as the No. 130 overall player in the 2023 On3 Industry Ranking, the average from all four major recruiting sites. On3’s evaluators are higher on him, ranking him 115th overall in the class. Gardner is also the son of a former McDonald’s All-American Jelani Gardner.

Scouting Report
“The first thing you notice about Jazz Gardner is his size. He is a legit 7-footer with long arms and a projectable frame. Watching Gardner play, you see he has a lot of tools. He has good timing when protecting the rim, he moves well laterally and up and down the floor, and he is a good area rebounder. Gardner’s most interesting attribute maybe his passing. He had some great reads from multiple spots on the floor. Gardner’s game is still raw, and there is still some tightening and growth to be had. But, with his ability to make shots and make plays on both ends, there is a lot to like, and expect a continued upward trend.” – On3’s Jamie Shaw
Gardner recently spoke to On3 and broke down his own game.
“I am a five-slash-four who can do a little bit of everything basically; dribble, pass, and shoot,” Gardner said. “I am going to always play hard and make the right play, processing and reading the game a lot quicker this year. Also, my strength has developed since last year.”
