Four-star RB Caden Durham sets a commitment date

Caden Durham has had his sights set on a commitment date ahead of his senior season at Dallas Metroplex powerhouse Duncanville (Texas) High School before the program attempts to repeat as state champions.
Now, the electric running back has a plan in place.
Durham, the On3 Industry Ranking’s No. 8-ranked running back, is set to reveal his college decision on August 10. The 5-foot-10, 200-pound speedster will choose from Oklahoma, LSU and Texas A&M.
The On300 standout was originally set to go public with his decision on Friday, August 25 before Duncanville kicks off against Dallas (Texas) South Oak Cliff in the season opener.
Durham is coming off a multi-day unofficial visit to LSU, where he spent multiple days around Brian Kelly and Frank Wilson, who have made the Texas burner their priority target at the running back position in this 2024 recruiting cycle. The four-star back has been to Baton Rouge three times since April, including this last visit ahead of his newly scheduled commitment date next month.
Durham, who has family all across Oklahoma, was a part of the Sooners’ biggest recruiting weekend of the summer in June for the ChampU BBQ. Durham not only has family ties to the Sooner State, but has also been a top target for Brent Venables and DeMarco Murray since the coaching staff arrived in Norman.

This summer, Durham also squeezed in official visits to see both Texas A&M and UTSA. Nebraska and Michigan State are two more Big Ten programs that were working feverishly to get visits from the talented On300 running back. Auburn also extended an offer to Durham a bit earlier this summer and like Alabama, was working to get a fall visit from one of the country’s top uncommitted backs.
Durham is one of the fastest running backs in America, and he clocked personal-best times on the track this spring — with a 10.25-second 100-meter dash and a 21.12-second 200-meter dash. He’s being courted by multiple football programs as well as track programs, including from both LSU and Oklahoma.
Durham’s mother was a member of the Oklahoma track and field program during her time in Norman.
Durham ranks as the No. 105 overall prospect in the country, per the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He also checks in as the No. 21 overall player from the talented Lone Star State in this 2024 recruiting cycle.
