Updated schedule, bracket, TV heading into semifinals of the 2023 SEC Baseball Tournament
The SEC Tournament field has winnowed down to four and the semifinal matchups are set for Saturday. Texas A&M will rematch with Arkansas, as will Florida and Vanderbilt. Both games will be on SEC Network.
The Aggies kept their season alive and built a stronger postseason case with a 5-4 win over LSU on Friday evening in an elimination game. Texas A&M trailed late in the game, down since the fourth inning and trailing the Tigers, 3-1, entering the seventh inning. In the bottom of the frame, the Aggies scored a run on a sacrifice fly before Hunter Haas jacked a three-run home run to give Texas A&M a lead it would not relinquish.
On the other side of the bracket, Vanderbilt plated nine runs to send Alabama home from Hoover, 9-2. The Commodores are comfortably going to be in the NCAA tournament, but getting some revenge on Florida for a 6-3 loss on Thursday would be a nice way to keep the weekend rolling.
The semifinals will start at noon, with the Aggies and Razorbacks getting back on the diamond after Arkansas won an 11-inning bout on a walkoff home run on Wednesday. Florida and Vanderbilt will play at the conclusion of the first semifinal.
