I think it’s a good idea for all to read this article. What’s going on in our program is more than just Ws and Ls. We have a culture problem. A culture of excuses and lack of accountability. A revival is needed. The article doesn’t even mention the time Marzilli missed with his heart issue. Or the fact that we lost Nolan Belcher for the year before the season started. They didn’t talk about injuries. They didn’t allow anyone else to bc they just won anyway.

There’s really only one guy you’d want at the plate with the game on the line right now…Petry. You could have picked from 4 back then.

Good times... with the exception of basketball. In 2011, Horn was offering every excuse he could for sucking. Come to think of it, that's probably why Tanner took a different approach. Thanks Darren Horn!

Talent Wins! When you lose 2 of 3 starting pitchers and 3/4 of your infield it drastically reduces success, especially in the elite, double tough SEC.

You evidently are the exception that can win anyway, no matter what the circumstances. Good for you.

The team was relatively healthy in the Ark/UT series and the SECT. If we win those 2 series and beat A&M in the Tourny we would have been a higher seed and wouldn't have drawn UF in the supers. UT had won 2 SEC road games all year long. They shut us out in game 1 and run ruled us in game 3. We scored a whopping 5 runs in the Ark series. No excuse for the N. FL loss and the 2 Clt losses.

We actually navigated the pitching injuries quite nicely. I believe we ended up 4th in the SEC in ERA...top 15 in the country. The AU and UK series were bad, but pretty good otherwise.

I would agree with you...I'm pretty exceptional.

This whole conversation is why he should have been let go last year. You do not delay what must be done today. He didn't make the tournament last year, and posted our first losing season in almost 30 years. Can't get more justifiable than that. But here we are using injuries as a crutch once again, saying "you can't fire a guy after winning a regional". It's not about winning a regional. It's about a guy's 6 year body of work simply not being good enough. This isn't football, where we should just be happy making the postseason. We don't have to accept mediocrity from the baseball program. We haven't since the 1960s...which is how far back you have to go to find a win % lower than King's.
