So looking at the most recent AP Rankings:

1. Alabama lost to Vanderbilt
2. Texas had a bye
3. Ohio State beat Iowa
4. Tennessee lost to Arkansas
5. Georgia beat Auburn
6. Oregon beat MSU
7. Penn State beat UCLA
8. Miami is losing to Cal
9. Missouri lost to Texas A&M
10. Michigan lost to Washington
11. USC lost to Minnesota
12. Ole Miss beat South Carolina
13. LSU had a bye
14. Notre Dame had a bye
15. Clemson beat FSU
16. Iowa State beat Baylor
17. BYU had a bye
18. Utah had a bye
19. Oklahoma had a bye
20. Kansas State had a bye

So 4 in the top 10 lost, and 1 in the top 10 is currently playing and losing. A pretty wild weekend in CFB

AND KU lost their 5th in a row, all blowing late 4th quarter leads. Tonight it was Ariz St scoring with 16 seconds left in the game.

Christian Driver is a WR for MINNY. o_O . He transferred there from PSU and is the son of former NFL WR Donald Driver. Was Christian really not good enough to see the field at PSU?
Franklin prefers Fleming (the fish that got away) over the one he had in hand...

Miami drives down the field in 5 minutes, scores a TD, goes for two and makes it. 35-18 Call still on top. How will Cal respond?

Doesn't seem like anyone in ACC is playing D. Miami drives down the field, gets a TD. 38-25 Cal with 10:28 left in 4th. Feels like Miami may complete the comeback.

ESPN didn't do the viewer any favors by only showing a couple of replays of that targeting. I'm 95% sure it was targeting but there's that 5% part that needed to see at least one more look to see if maybe the initial point of contact was the shoulder and then the head, which would then render it not targeting.

But at some point this season the ACC Replay Center won't be there to bail out the Canes.

They didn’t do a good job on the pass over the line either. I think it was legal, but it was close.

It was legal based on the rule in effect today but I think the rule sucks. It should be if ANY part of the body is past the LOS it’s an illegal forward pass.

Just my humble opinion.

I cannot believe Miami pulled that out. I wasn’t watching, but I saw Cal was up 6 with 2:00 remaining and they had the ball! WTF?!

New top-5:

1. Texas
2. Ohio State
3. Oregon
4. Georgia
5. Penn State

As I watched into the early hours, I agree with the rules analyst they talked to.
- contact with the crown of the helmet
- contact to the head or neck region
- launch by defender
All three in place.

Rick Neuheisel called the ACC replay officials out last Monday morning basically saying they are protecting Miami as the only hope in the conference to make the playoffs. I am looking forward to his show tomorrow morning.

It seems like every time they go to one of those rules analysts, either they’re wrong, or the call on the field is wrong (after reciew). College and NFL.

Driver was never mentioned anywhere close to the starting lineup for PSU. It just didn’t seem like it was going to happen anytime soon. He got impatient and enetered the transfer portal on Dec 5. Fleming announced he was transferring to PSU in January. I’m not sure one had anything to do with the other.

I guess it’s safe to say that the powers that be want Miami in the playoff?

Exactly. I like Rick. He usually has a good take on things.

There wasn't a rules analyst on that game. The guy that was hitting the 3 standards for targeting was Brock Osweiler, the analyst (and former Broncos QB washout). I was sitting there like, where's Matt Austin? (he's the ESPN rules guy). Like I said in my post, I'm pretty sure it was targeting but on one of the replays that they didn't show again, it's possible that the contact could have gone shoulder then head.

As for Neuheisel's comment, I hope he'd realize that the ACC Champion get an automatic bid. Maybe he misspoke and meant to say a 2nd ACC team in the playoffs.
