A lot of bad former players that weren’t SEC quality. If our coaches thought Khalid Moore or Caleb Bryant would develop into that they would still be on our roster. Instead they went 1-11 in the Sun belt
Our ‘coaches’ aren’t very good at evaluating, obviously.

Kind of like how your idol Leach consistently lost to FCS teams at Wazzu or how we needed a miracle to beat La Tech in 2021?

Yeah…..I do think we are bad. And I don’t think our coaches are good. Not only that, I think the reason our roster was so bad, was in big part due to our current coaches.

I think we ran off some high potential in-state players, who needed to be developed, down to USM (and other places) because we thought we could do better. And we didn’t.

I’ve been pretty clear on that stance, for a long time.
Just a 17’ing crap stirring troll. This is Lebby’s true first recruiting and transfer portal class. You are simply a miserable 17.

Constantly before our HC died. What a 17’ing fanboy reply if there ever was one.
LOL. Normal teams aren’t constantly ranked in the lower third of the SEC in preseason polls.

Why did he take USM job, would think Marshall a lot better

Marshall and Huff had long been at odds when it came to a possible contract extension — his Marshall contract expires at the end of January so he came through on a Contract Year.

Or recruiting either! Oh, wait….

Top QB in the portal
Top 3 RB in the portal
Top 5 WR in the portal
Solid DL, LB, Edge, Secondary from the portal

So far this off season, this staff > Leach and >>>>>>> Arnett

Results on the field remain to be seen…

As old as you claim to be, you seem to have forgotten the Templeton/Croom era.

Maybe the Alzheimer’s is setting in. That sure would explain a lot..
In what way am I insinuating that I have forgotten the Croom Error? That was specifically what I was referencing. Bad AD and bad coach, which is what we now have yet again. Remember, many posters here came along after Croom. That's the point, they don't realize how bad our team can be, which is likely to include losing to Southern.

It’s actually not a bad portal class at all in normal years. But you’re sure pumping up a class with 2 4* and 13 3* a lot. Unfortunately, it’s not nearly enough for our schedule next fall.

Why is MSU playing at USM in any sport? We should let them die on the vine instead of keeping them in business.
They are pretty much dead on the vine whether we play them or not. It’s no different than playing any other Sunbelt or CUSA team.

Yeah but we lose to G5 teams. And if that team happens to be USM, it hurts more on multiple levels. It's more embarrassing for most of our fans who have to listen to their fans, for one. It could hurt us with in-state recruits that are on the fence, that we need for depth. It also breeds resentment, the prevents many of their fans from ever developing an allegiance to us. If you go to other states, people who went to South Alabama or Memphis or whatever are also Bama/Auburn/UT/etc. fans.

Man, those Bobby Collins and Jim Carmody Southern Miss teams in the 1980s were legit big-time football teams. They could have competed in the SEC back then.
I remember when we played USM in 2014. There were a lot of older Bulldog fans having flashbacks to what USM did to us in the late '70s- 80's. It was actually surprising to see how easy it was to beat them (then again we had Dak and the team that went #1 playing them).

It’s just a very different era today. It be would take all the stars aligning for Southern Miss to beat any SEC team today. And even then it really wouldn’t matter.
