Number of players in the portal is fairly meaningless. In many cases, it's good attrition. What you don't want is to lose starters or key contributors. I couldn't care less about most of the players we're losing. But there's about 5 that are going to really hurt.

Well he’s built his team pretty much entirely on the portal but I’m not sure that it’s working out very well. They had a couple of nice seasons with a veteran legacy QB but this season’s ground and pound can’t be what they had in mind when they brought in Dart. The question was can programs like Ole Miss use the portal to prevent the occasional falloffs that we would have expected in years past? I’d say the portal did not allow them to simply reload.

Yep. Big Difference between transferring cuz of playin' time versus NIL $$.
