IA transfer ?IA transfer 125
Howard 133
I have a hard time seeing this happen. He is at the top of the mountain in Iowa. Those crazy fans will never forgive him for leaving for the enemy. The HWC will be his kingdom and he knows it. When the Brands retire he will have a job for life. Just can't see him leaving with all that pressure.Once Spencer graduates and comes to the NLWC,
look at Snyder? Top of the international/Olympic wrestling mountain vs top of the Iowa mountain? Very different levels.I have a hard time seeing this happen. He is at the top of the mountain in Iowa. I think Howard and Davis not sure which order.Davis would be my best guess at this moment.
I trust Cael to make this happen!!IA transfer 125
Howard 133
And we should be good enough from 141 to 285 to make up for any potential deficiencies at 125 and 133.I trust Cael to make this happen!!
Lilledahl and Forrest are on the radar. We need an Elite 125 pounder. Haven’t had one since Nico graduated. Should be priority #1 right now in recruiting. Iowa is difficult because they have a very defensive style. Cael and staff will work on good set up’s and angles moving forward. Any elite recruit who would go to Iowa is beyond me. If you’ve noticed their wrestlers don’t improve much at all throughout their careers. Gilman will tell you all about it.
Yes I know. Those 2 are MUST gets for our team. After last night one would think they would definitely want to wrestle in a program that goes out to score points oppose to being all defensive. NIL $$$$ will play a huge factor. Hopefully our bigger donors in wrestling will step up. We definitely have the donors available.Lilledahl and Forrest are on the radar.
They were both on the USA U17 World Team that went to Rome last summer (along with Kasak, Sealy, and Ryder) and brought home gold. They have international and Olympic aspirations. Exactly no question. It’s gonna take $$$$ from our Donors though. We do in fact have some great rich donors for wrestling. Hopefully we can afford them. That would be HUGE for our program moving forward. They were both on the USA U17 World Team that went to Rome last summer (along with Kasak, Sealy, and Ryder) and brought home gold. It would be nice though, wouldn't it?Cael doesn’t need an elite 125. He’s proven that. Find 5-7 horses and ride them into the sunset.

Great note’s Tom. Thank you.Two amazing wrestlers, and both have visited PSU.
Lilledahl is the more likely of the two to have a chance at 125 or 133. He's a junior in HS, so we should know what he plans to do in the next 6-9 months.
Forrest is a freshman in HS, so he's a long way from making a college decision (one would presume). Weight projections are always speculative that many years out, but the folks I've talked to about him think he's most likely to be a middleweight.
Have to believe Bassett is in the mix as well although it's hard to tell where he might be leaning for college. I think he is a sophomore this year, but am uncertain given his status of being ineligible to compete in PIAA's. He is likely to be in that 125/133 range for college.

A lot of the powerhouse sports schools (private schools) “redshirt” their athletes. So, many freshman are not 14. Not sure about Forrest? That is some amazing accomplishment by freshman Forrest!! Wonder how big he becomes as obviously most 14 or 14 year old boys are still growing. He appears to be a rare talent and future star!!
Public schools do it too...actually their parents do it. They have their kid start Kindegarten a year late, have them held back etc.A lot of the powerhouse sports schools (private schools) “redshirt” their athletes. So, many freshman are not 14. Not sure about Forrest?
I know. It’s common with the privates to have them repeat 8th grade so they are a year older before they start their freshman year. Many times it’s when the student is enrolling in a private high school from a public school. My son encounters it in lacrosse a lot.Public schools do it too...actually their parents do it. The loophole is going from public to private. When I coached a 100 yrs ago, you had to get held back before 7th grade.
Glad it was beneficial for you. As you said, completely different circumstances.I repeated seventh grade when I went from public school in Bucks county to private school. I wish I had great sports story to pass along. I was just a lousy student with ADD and my grandparents had the money. I will forever by grateful!!

Won't the parents adjust and have their child repeat 7th grade instead of 8th? Also, maybe they get a doctor's diagnosis (thinking dyslexia) to support repeating a grade? The PIAA is making this tougher to do in Pennsylvania, at least at schools covered by the PIAA. A number of private schools are members of the PIAA, though not all private schools in PA are PIAA schools. They (the PIAA) just adopted the rule:
PIAA unanimously adopts new eligibility rule for high school athletes
The rule was adopted to prevent high school "red-shirting."www.cbsnews.com
Even though he wrestles at Sem, isn't Lilledahl from Missouri? I have no inside knowledge but I would assume Mizzou Coach Smith is also in heavy on Lilledahl who is quite a prospect. As a Jr, he was the #2 seed at Dec-22's Walsh Ironman and beat the #1 seed, the aforementioned Frosh Jax Forrest, in SV.Two amazing wrestlers, and both have visited PSU.

Yes, he's from STL. Attended Christian Brothers (same school as Henson). Followed his coach to Seminary.Even though he wrestles at Sem, isn't Lilledahl from Missouri?
