I assume this would be 5+9, with the top 2 conference champs receiving a bye.

For now. I think the fact they’re discussing it means it’s inevitable though.I think they talked about it, then moved on.
In Other words, no.
What I saw on Finebaum.
Would group of 5 be better off in their own playoff? The one G5 team that makes the playoff is going to get sanduskied 9 times out of 10.If they get enough G5 Presidents on the committee it will happen.
The more teams, the more games, the better for me. I'd due higher seed host until the second to last round. Also no auto qualifiers. The 17 is the point? Go to 16. No byes. All neutral site.
Yes, except home sites instead of neutral. The better teams earned an advantage in the regular season. The 17 is the point? Go to 16. No byes. All neutral site.
Does FCS and D2/3 do that? They might, I'm not sure. I'm just going by basketball, and a self-serving effort to preserve bowls (which is a staple of a bygone era).Yes, except home sites instead of neutral. The better teams earned an advantage in the regular season.
Yes, all of the lower divisions of football use home sites until the final.Does FCS and D2/3 do that? They might, I'm not sure. I'm just going by basketball, and a self-serving effort to preserve bowls (which is a staple of a bygone era).
But either way, it's doable. Playoff needs to be bigger, that simple fact can't be debated.
