Our coaches only had to throw one brick, & it went our way. Still think Max gave up 2 back points. Keck had 2 against Hidley. Him & Ok St's Perry wrestle with their backs to the outer edge. Loved their shots of the Hidley's mother having 2 sons going at the same time. Kerk potential title material next year. Can't believe Wick couldn't get into State but Cal Poly accepted him. Poly 2nd highest academic rating in the west after Stanford. Will Casey get job offers? Does anybody have any alcohol left for tomorrow? Spring f-ball coming soon. I'm Niteowlgt from the previous board. Have been around since the late 60's. Iowa fans at least have their pro sports teams to fall back on. Whoops, they don;t have any. Any momentum left for sex this eve. Ha.

I agree, yesterday he basically said if you want to win in Olympics goto PSU, 4 of 6 medal winners came through NLWC. Results speak for themselves, they are basically trying to make it entertaining for non PSU fans. My only gripe is the Iowa love fest. WTF, aside from a COVID year what have they won lately.
I particularly enjoy the part where he talked about CStar’s tough B1G tournament (even though AB was the guy with the heartbreak at B1Gs). I think you can make it entertaining without Cormier. I thought he was hackish. While, I don’t believe he’s anti-PSU, I just think he’s bad. Thought the guys on Matcast were solid… But I know a little about broadcasting and much, much less about wrestling. By the way, I still dislike Gibbons…

Have you thought about instituting a drinking rule pertaining to "go ahead and..."? Because we/ve grown to love it.

Did anyone else notice how Amine dug his elbow into Aaron's neck when her got that late meaningless takedown? He knew he lost and acted like a dick. Not sorry to see him go after 7 years.

I did. One part of me thought dick, other part of me thought Brooks is so good he just didn't feel like getting flipped. Either way, he got rag dolled the whole match and the video's out there for him to watch the rest of his life.

There were 4 or 5 little kids sitting in the front row on the floor right where the wrestlers exited the mat, they mate out like bandits: 3 headgear, and lots of autographs.

It was good the NCAA brought the families down to the front row. I remember AC's crew celebrating after his win in 2019. What a wonderful thing. Plus, for the guys who lose, I am sure it is important to be surrounded by the one's who love them the most.

Sorry, I can't seem to find that answer anywhere. It's a guarantee that it was Steveson though. I'll try to find it.
I checked the Gophers site. Gable was indeed the OW. By the way, Sanderson was the COTY.

I also know Kerk is pretty banged up and RBY has a thumb issue for sure. The endurance of all of these guys is pretty amazing. Hard to find more dedicated athletes. It’s more than a sport. It’s a lifestyle!

Not the best format but here is the top two teams score since 2011 and the margin of victory. Turns out this tied for the second largest margin of victory. Score wise it looks like we cruised.....it didn't feel like it.

I thought our guys were more aggressive going after bonus this year, but the actual results proved me wrong.

2122Diff
RBY22.5230.5
Lee23.523-0.5
Carter21221
Aaron21.5231.5
88.5912.5
Kerk1115.54.5
1979.521.512

Hopefully next year we clean up some of the points we left on the table this year.

Bo scored 27 in 2019, Nolf had 26 and Cassar 24..........insane.

I'm not sure I'm reading your table correctly. But it looks like in 22 the wrestlers listed scored 9.5 more points than last year. (I ignored 197 because the wrestlers were different...Beard vs Dean).

Anyway, that looks more aggressive to me.

Top four scored 2.5 more combined so they did improve a bit......and I am probably being too picky. Kerk did way better, given this starting point last year, this isn't surprising. That said, Kerk continues to improve. I Given the team tracks everything, I am sure none of this is lost on them.

As @Tom McAndrew said, last night was a Steveson lovefest. Several wrestlers scored more points, had tougher draws and more impressive championship matches. That being said, Steveson has been an extraordinary heavyweight wrestler for the past two seasons. I just don't think he deserved MOW for this tournament.

If Kerk stays on the weights and gets on the Cassar calorie program he will be National Champion next season. Just not big enough against the best. He gave Gable a great match. Just couldn’t finish shots.
