I felt like I was watching my kids play given the history and wonderful memories of the Nova contingent. I can’t be upset that each of those three play the right way and never stop coming at you. Congrats to them for moving on and congrats to Jay for making these kids into professionals. His finger prints are all over these kids.

The Sixers will be better next year. They either go star hunting or add a bunch of pieces to build a strong deep roster. Nurse is a good coach. I feel much better after this exit than the last couple.
The Sixers will definitely be better next year. Dropping the Harden and Harris money, and being able to bring in a star-level addition (hopefully) makes them better. This year just sucked. Even had Embiid not gotten hurt, they didn't have the scoring depth to do much in the playoffs.

Thoughts on McCain?
Hope his shooting game is as good as his tik tok game.

I'm hoping his shooting (and D) is better than his Tik Tok game:

Thoughts?

I was hoping for a SF or PF. Morley claims that had him in their top 10, and felt it made more sense to take him than to make a trade (we don't yet know who the player offered was). Only time will tell if their scouting was accurate.

With so many unsigned Sixers FAs, and no FAs that will be on the market that look to be a perfect fit, I'm still not sure what the correct path is to create a team that can defeat Boston. So much depends on Embiid staying healthy. After that, you need a collection of players that can work well with JoJo and Maxey.

Exercise in futility.

I don’t follow the NBA closely, but four years and $212 MM for a guy who is 34?

Then there’s hockey. Sam Reinhart, 28 years old, 67 goals this past season, and the Cup-winning goal, just signed a contract with Florida for eight years and $69 MM.

For f*ck’s sake.

I would have liked Melton to return, though his trying healthy has been the biggest problem with him on the roster.

I think today started the clock on the beginning of the end. Realistically PG 13 is probably the last of the big stars to sign. Simmons/Fultz, Jimmy, and Harden didn’t produce a Finals and you have to think the age of PG and less than great post season play presents a 2 year window. Not sure I see a runway longer than that. Start the engines.
