I watched all Mesenbrink’s matches - that dude is an absolute machine! Total Penn St all offense style. I knew he was good, but what I saw today was on a singularly incredible level

Yep, pretty eye-opening performance, without question. Obviously he accomplished plenty before his abbreviated first college season but this was nearly as strong of a performance as you can get.

Flo's attempt to explain what happened:

I do not really know the intricacies of FS rules, so I will take this guy's word that this was a misapplication of the rule. However, if this were to be the rule I think you would not see the running around the mat strategy when up in a close match.

I think everyone would agree that the last 10 second would have been more exciting if a TD was attempted by one of the wrestlers.

It is a sham(e) that the misapplication cost a wrestler a win.
