Aaron Nagao vs. Julian Chlebove Arizona State
First period
Chlebove had a couple of scoring chances but didn't finish. Nagao shoots in and gets a leg and a good scramble ensues but there is no scoring before a stalemate is called. No score after one.
Second period
Chlebove down to start the second. Nagao works up under Chlebove's arms for a turn attempt. He was in good position but a stalemate was called. Chlebove stands on the restart and gets out to 1-0. Nagao gets in on a leg and Chlebove tries to fend it off, Nagao kept working toward a takedown and they ended up in a potentially dangerous call but time ran out anyway.
Third period
Nagao down. Nagao tries for a reversal following a Chlebove mat return but potentially dangerous stops the action again. Nagao stands and gets out this time to tie things at 1-1. But, Chlebove did get the riding time clock under a minute, so that's not in play at the moment (Clock favors Nagao but only at :56). Nagao shoots on a single and gets Chlebove's right leg and hikes it up near the edge of the mat as Chlebove bounds and Nagao pulls him toward center circle. They go toward the mat and Nagao gets the leg back and throws Chlebove toward his back. It is a five point throw, three takedown and two nerfalll, for a 6-1 lead with three seconds left.
But ASU challenges, so hold everything.
CALL REVERSED. So we go back to a 1-1 match with 28 seconds left. This is nice long review. Good things we split this up,
@Tom McAndrew!
Now Penn State challenges before the action restarts. It's unclear what is being challenged.
Three points are awarded to Nagao off that review. The Arizona State coaches, as you might imagine, are irate. And they're going back to the monitor.
All told, it's a 4-1 lead for Nagao with three seconds left. He has a riding time point, as well. He wins, 5-1.
Nagao d. Chlebove, 4-1
