He had been committed to us for dadgum near a month, committing on July 6.

LSU offered a few days ago and he just flipped.

Just a 3*, but he was considered a big pickup for us...enough so that LSU decided they needed to flip him, which they did with apparent ease.

This class is trending way in the wrong direction and I fear what it portends for Beamer's future here.

I'm starting to get the sneaky suspicion these Twitter commitments don't mean a whole lot...

It was just 3 weeks ago that we landed Lex Cyrus, but it feels like months ago with all the losses and misses since then.

It's us fan who are contributing to all these decommitments, contently talking about this might be Coach Beamer last year. Stuff like that can and are used by other coaches in recruiting to sway players to their team. Another thing all this negative talk about players recruiting rankings, saying they aren't good players because they are 3 stars. These players see that on message boards and say, l will go somewhere else where I am appreciate more and my chances are better to win. Coach Beamer and his coaches must be great evaluaters of talent because these big name school are coming after those same 3 stars players because they see why coach is taking on their evaluations of these players. Stop 🛑 the noise and let's get behind our coaches while they are here representing our school, nobody is trying harder than Coach Beamer and his staff.

We can hardly get a few dozen Gamecocks fans on this message board. I doubt very seriously that Chip Kelly is hanging out on here lol

I had no idea I had this much influence on Beamers recruiting prowess or lack thereof.

I always laugh when someone tries to blame recruiting woes on posts on a message board.

Nevermind the things that actually impact recruiting, let's make sure we all type in a happy font!

Nothing much has changed. The big time schools have always been sliding its' players money. It's just out in the open now. We are never going to compete dollar for dollar with the Georgia's, Alabama's, or LSU's of the world. We are going to have spend our money wisely in key positions where we can make a competitive financial offer and provide playing time. Like I said yesterday. Get a QB. Make sure he has a big-time WR to throw to. A LT to Block. A DE to rush the passer. A cover corner. This is where we should devote our money to. Fill around the gaps with 3 stars, select four stars that want the chance to play early, and portal guys that see a better chance to play with us or have outperformed the school that they were coming from. It's sort of the same formula that Paris used to be successful with the basketball team last year. Nobody will care where the players come from or how they got here if we can have some successful seasons. We are not going to be a perennial power, never have been. We can be competitive though.

Not to mention, I didn’t realize that the fans of the bigger name schools never are skeptical over getting 3 star players. I suppose that’s only an SC phenomenon.

This. Agree completely.

If we are relegated to trying live by the portal, we're screwed.

And it does nothing to sugarcoat the losses and misses lately.
We're screwed unless we suddenly have one of our billionaire donors care about sports or NIL gets some form of regulation

Yet guys still pay for “insider” information.

Just tell me who shows up at camp these days.

If the noise in a fanbase is discontent, then other coaches claim hotseat. This is obvious and is exactly what the hot seat means.
Thank you for the definition of the hot seat, however I am well acquainted in its meaning.
In addition the vast majority of coaches live in that sphere regardless of their current circumstances, we are hardly the outlier.

Actually, most fanbases are delusionally positive every off-season, the ones that aren't have less cause for optimism, are branded hot seat and have trouble recruiting. Florida has the 50th recruiting class right now with a history of championships, more NIL and way more in state talent.

Pittman, Napier, Aranda, Cumbie are just a few being crucified by their fanbases and appear in ''hot seat articles''.
Even seeing negative fan posts and stray stories regarding Cristobal, Day and Dablo needing to go.

Not so much message boards….but they do follow on Twitter and we have fans who make questionable comments on there.

Well, coach Kelly, if you're on here now, let me be the first to welcome you to the boards. And this goes for all the other football coaches in the SEC, as well as Dabo, who are obviously glued to this forum to get recruiting ammo.

Day is going nowhere. He is the winningest coach in TOSU history at this point in his tenure. I read the TOSU site regularly and there is very little discontent regarding Day.

Is he? He's won 56 of his first 64 games there. Meyer won 59.
Evidently per one article on the TOSU site I read.

EDIT: appears they were wrong or I don’t know what criteria they were using. But still close.

Yep, saw an article where Day and the AD made substantial investments in the portal this season in efforts to keep up with Michigan's success. I'm assuming with the AD on board there was some money involved.

Must be common core math. My old fashioned math tells me 59/64 > 56/64.

I don't know if there's discontent, but the OSU folks I know personally are not at all happy to have lost to Michigan 3 years in a row for the first time in nearly 3 decades. Also have missed out on the conference title game 2 years in a row. Meyer had them there every year for 7 years.

Good point. That leaves us hoping for some NIL regulations. But how many years will we have to wait for the powers that be to notice a trend and then discuss options and finally take action? Meanwhile we suck and are firing and hiring coaches.

Losing to Meatchigan is never good. It got Cooper fired despite averaging 10 wins a season.

Yet AD Smith had enough of him….brought TOSU too much bad publicity.

I don’t keep up with NIL but I wouldn’t think TOSU had any problem in that area.

It's being worked on right now an be is connected with the 22M from schools thing. It changes the circumstances that might be the window the NCAA needs to stop the run away pay for play.
