For those in the know, how well can this team expect to do without Izzy?
It is going to be a challenge. We already weren’t blocking well and a 5’9” setter playing front row doesn’t bode well for improvement. Coach may have to get creative and let one of the littles set some so she can sub in a big for the new starting setter when she rotates to the front row. We saw it a little bit in the last game. I am a big fan of Addie Lyon. Good server and apparently a respected leader. But 5’9” is 5’9”.

I don't know that anyone has said, officially. It could be as simple as her getting some rest. But with the Izzy Starck departure, there are inevitably going to be rumors of Martin looking to transfer if coach Katie doesn't get out in front of this.
Danielle Whitmire. The setter situation will be okay after this year.

Who was the brunette assistant to Rose that was kind of cuteish, maybe had a mole on her face? I thought maybe she got out of coaching. If you saw her, you would remember her.

Losing Izzy really changed this season. It's disappointing but last year's run was awesome and there's no reason to believe they won't bounce back even if this is a down year.

Definitely saw some positives in the Pitt loss, the team is getting better. There were definitely going to be growing pains with breaking in new transfer players, Izzy not being 100% and then leaving forcing us to restart with a new setter, and the brutal schedule. I'm curious if we ever hear more about Izzy's situation, for now it's all rumors and if true it pretty much removes any chance that she'd return to PSU in a future season.

Someone sent me twitter screenshots, if any way real, does not sound promising for her as an individual or return to team :( . Shocked have been posted and discussed here to date. unfortunately am techy challenged to post myself.

Five sets against Princeton. For f*ck’s sake.
There is one consistent hitter -- Martin. That is not going to get it done against the top teams. Combined with the loss of Izzy, this team went from a Final Four top end at the beginning of the year to maybe a Sweet 16 top end now and even that looks shaky.
