Maybe Connor can’t see himself winning 197/184 and both are leaving. Very plausible imoMaybe the Mirasolas are out?

I am sure coaches didn't approach him. What coach would say no? Obviously wants to come and buy into system.I have to admit I’m stunned. In a lot of ways it doesn’t make sense to me.
Ryder was/is a very hyped prospect. At worst an AA contender. Handled Arnold (i know, who hasn't) in freestyle.I am sure coaches didn't approach him. What coach would say no? Obviously wants to come and buy into system.
But is he a fit into the culture? That is what keeps this team together. I like Ryder and this doesn’t seem to give him much choice, but to leave. He spent the last two years in SC waiting for his chance.I am sure coaches didn't approach him. What coach would say no? Obviously wants to come and buy into system.
There was a poster on here who basically said we turned Rocco way at some point. No idea if true. But is he a fit into the culture? That is what keeps this team together. I had heard in the past that Rocco had a reputation coming out of high school. I don’t have specifics, that’s all I got. He also was a bit of a punk to Barr in the Pittsburgh Wrestling Classic a few years ago. I have to be honest. I don’t really like the feel of this. This one feels different. I trust Cael and Co., but Ryder seems to have done everything right to get a spot in the lineup, including moving to State College and training with the NLWC his senior yr of HS (like Haines and Kasak). He’s a highly talented kid with a U20 world silver medal on his resume. He made three world teams in the past (2 bronze and a silver). He won the Southern Scuffle this year pretty easily, while beating two ranked wrestlers. I don’t get it, unless there is something we don’t know? Maybe el-jefe has some insight? There was a poster on here who basically said we turned Rocco way at some point. No idea if true.
Maybe Ryder or Mirasolas have been leaving and we just didn't know. Who knows. I'm all for the best team, but this seems a little weird.
There are also rumors that Angelo may join them. If so, Hawkeyes would be in a state of nuclear meltdown. So apparently BOTH AJ and Anthony Ferrari are in the portal. Speculation is both may be going to Iowa State. Hawkeye fans have to be melting down.
cant get to 230? didnt he have to cut to get to 197? seems like the trend is for the heavies to get lighter no?Barr 285 dreaming
Heard he had to eat to keep his weight up.cant get to 230? didnt he have to cut to get to 197? seems like the trend is for the heavies to get lighter no?
I kinda had the same feel about Welsh in HS. Can't remember how much of that was specifically him, vs how much was Waynesburg -- they've had their share of guys who shall we say would fit in at Rutgers Fight Club.I had heard in the past that Rocco had a reputation coming out of high school. Fredo was back in the portal approximately 5 minutes after arriving at LIU.So apparently BOTH AJ and Anthony Ferrari are in the portal. Speculation is both may be going to Iowa State. Hawkeye fans have to be melting down.
THAT would set off Hawk fans. There are also rumors that Angelo may join them. If so, Hawkeyes would be in a state of nuclear meltdown.
Just stop.cant get to 230? didnt he have to cut to get to 197? seems like the trend is for the heavies to get lighter no?
I dont know Boys get bigger as they age too many variables at play even for other teammates ------- you tell us where it all fits because if what you say is true about HWT if this welsh stuff is true there appear to be no room at the inn for someoneJust stop.
Cael believes in Cole as a HWT.
And why on earth would the highest returning 197 placer deliberately choose to move up when he doesn't have a terrible cut?

Word is that Welsh approached PSU, not vice-versa -- kinda like Max Dean did. If so, and the coaches are OK with his personality/fit with the team, then you don't turn him away. (BTW, apparently he and Michael Mocco were both in Bo Nickal's suite at NCAAs.) Worst case, he doesn't fit and finds himself back in the portal.
Really like Ryder as a prospect, but he has not earned the job. Therefore he has not earned the right to stave off an import. (And even if he did ... Davis didn't block Ono.) For that matter, Welsh has not earned the job yet either. He'll have to beat out Ryder, and it's not a given. If Ryder loses the spot, he has a year to work his way down to 174 as Levi's successor. He'll be better for it.
There is already no room at the inn for multiple guys. The Cunningham boys may never see the starting line up. Davis may never start again. List goes on.I dont know Boys get bigger as they age too many variables at play even for other teammates ------- you tell us where it all fits because if what you say is true about HWT if this welsh stuff is true there appear to be no room at the inn for someone
sometimes your star right fielder moves to first base
Agree with all, including the last paragraph. I just hope everyone involved is patient and lets it all play out.I kinda had the same feel about Welsh in HS. Can't remember how much of that was specifically him, vs how much was Waynesburg -- they've had their share of guys who shall we say would fit in at Rutgers Fight Club.

Last year’s final vs Carter… clean match until a shove of the head when the action was stopped OOB with 8 seconds left. I remember Carter saying he quickly decided not to respond, as he didn’t want it to end that way.
That’s the only Welsh match I have seen.
