Still think it’s crazy that this game is in Bristol and not somewhere in the mid Atlantic.

I hear ya. But it makes it easier for lodging, field availability, making sure all aspects of the fields meet LL specs, etc.

The LL Eastern Region Headquarters are in Connecticut. They host the:
- Metro Region Tournament (which includes Connecticut)
- Mid-Atlantic Region Tournament (which doesn't include CT)
- New England Region Tournament (which doesn't include CT)

The LL Central Region Headquarters are in Indiana. They host the:
- Great Lakes Region Tournament (which includes Indiana)
- Midwest Region Tournament (which doesn't include IN)

The LL Southeast Region Headquarters are in Georgia. They host the:
- Southeast Region Tournament (which includes GA)

The LL Southwest Region Headquarters are in Texas. They host the:
- Southwest Region Tournament (which includes TX -- actually Texas East State Champ and Texas West State Champ)

The LL West Region Headquarters are in California. They host the:
- the West Region Tournament (which includes CA -- actually Northern CA State Champ and Southern CA State Champ)
- Mountain Region Tournament (which doesn't include CA)
- Northwest Region Tournament (which doesn't include CA)

Elimination Bracket Final (8/7):

MD (Montgomery County) 8, DE (M-O-T) 4

As such, M-O-T's season comes to an end.

In addition, MD advances to the Championship Game, against PA(Glenmoore Eagle), which will be played on Friday (8/8).

A reminder: unlike every other level of the road to the LLWS, the Regional Final (Championship Game) is the only situation where the team coming out of the Winner's Bracket (Glenmoore Eagle, in this case) does not get two chances to win one game. It's a winner-take-all game for a trip to Williamsport.

Championship Game (8/8):

PA (Glenmoore Eagle) 7, MD (Montgomery County) 1

As such, MD's season comes to an end, and PA wins the Mid-Atlantic Region Tournament, and advances to the Little League World Series (LLWS).

The LLWS starts on Wed., August 13, and runs through Sun., August 24. I'll have a '25 LLWS thread.

Congratulations to all of the teams that won their respective state tournaments, and advanced to the Mid-Atlantic Region Tournament. And major kudos to Glenmoore Eagle Youth Association Little League, which achieved the dream (make it to Williamsport) that every Little League team has at the start of the annual competition.

I love the LLWS games and always follow the team from PA every year. I still remember the year with Mo’ne Davis and how awesome she was pitching. This years team looks really good. They ran through the Mid Atlantic region with ease. They can hit the ball around with anyone.

It almost always comes down to pitching. PA has 3 good pitchers, but doesn't have the firepower of some of the other contenders. Hopefully, they'll be able handle some real fireballers.

I’d really like to see a little league go to a 50 foot pitchers mound and 70 foot bases. while I can only speak for Maryland, I believe this is going on everywhere, the best players at 12 years old in Maryland are not playing little league they’re playing on the bigger field already.
No offense to the Germantown kids that won the state tournament, they beat some very good teams from the eastern shore other parts of the state, but that wasn’t the best team of 12 players from Germantown.
I hate the current youth baseball model of just playing tournaments every weekend through the spring and summer which leads a lot of 12 year-old teams to not register for a little league because of the field size and pitch count restrictions and such but I think if little league international goes to the bigger field size they can get a lot of these teams back.

I sort of agree. Having grown up in the Port and been a neighbor of Creighton Hale's - us neighborhood kids were given everything from neon orange/yellow balls to stretch fencing. Little League actually has pioneered many things we take for granted in MLB today.

Little League has done a good job of policing the balls and the bats (take note USGA), but the kids have just gotten bigger and faster. I think it may be time for a change, with a strong emphasis on MAY.

Florida’s pitcher was 5’10” and 190 pounds. He looked like James Rodney Richard.

There are still kids picking dandelions in RF like there were 50 years ago that have rarely gotten a hit, let alone hit a 250' HR. They're obviously not currently on television though.

I don't want to judge the measurements and rules based on what we see on tv. They'd be better judged back in May/June at the local field.

I like the 2 first bases. Makes perfect sense and will eliminate a lot of injuries. Another innovation from LL that we could see in MLB some day.

Little League offers a 50/70 division for 11-13 YO. Towns still field these ridiculous 46/60 teams, though.

Little League was losing so many towns to Ripken, in part because Ripken was offering 50/70 and LL wasn't. But now that LL is offering 50/70, I don't think it's helping them retain/gain programs that much.

Our town leagues had switched to half 50/70 and half 46/60 years ago at the 11/12 YO level... we'd hung on to 46/60 because the town org switched us back to Little League, so we needed the practice. Our local summer all-stars league, however, was 50/70, so we had to play both. It was dumb. They moved us back to Ripken and now I think it's all 50/70. Most MA towns abandoned LL awhile ago.

12 year olds shouldn't be playing 46/60. It's pinball baseball at that point.
