Novak vs Little up now

Boring match and weird end. In OT it looked like Novak had a td but refs didn’t award it. Wyoming challenged and Novak lost on an illegal hold?! Strange ending to a boring match

Interesting finish. Technically correct, but didn’t feel right. I also don’t think Novak got the takedown. No matter how many times JB stated it, he wasn’t between the legs, nor did he have control.

I thought it should have went to TB, but technically the call was correct.

Garvin beats Brignola 3-1 with a last second td. Both guys are very good but all I can think about watching them is how bad Mesenbrink would hammer them. His bonus rate this year is going scary high

Ryder vs Smith up now. Let’s see how Ryder performs wearing orange. I can’t say I like how it looks on him but I hope he does well. I see him in 5-8 AA range

Ryder looking good. 2 tds from his patented whip over from an over under. He must be so strong

Ryder looked incredible. 14-4 win. Tons of pressure. A good reattack on the edge. Impressive

Dr. Henkle an Mr. Hyde just might insdeed, be the solution to such a dilemma. I give a thumbs up to that possibility, but I think that is quite optimistic at this early date.

Might be optimistic but after what he did this summer I think the sky’s the limit. He just keeps jumping levels. I can’t wait to see where he’s at after a year in the PSU room.

Geee. I wish Burroughs would talk about himself a little more. geeesh. Forget about the matches...Tell me how you would have tech'd everyone if they had 3 pt takedowns back in the day etc etc.

This is why I’m not a fan of Burroughs. Not a humble human being. He would benefit from time around Cael. Learn how to handle yourself with success.

Hunter Garvin trivia. If he finshes 6th or 8th the next two years he will tie Kyle Parco's record for most loses at the tournament.

Ryders going to be very good but I think Rocco is better. I guess we will see. And like @dicemen99 said, Henckel might be the best of all of them
I, for one, have absolutely no clue who is better but I do believe Ryder leaving and Rocco Welsh transferring in will wash out enough at nationals for the next 3 years that it won't be much an issue at all. Sure, Ryder may end up scoring more at nationals over the next 3 years but it won't be like Welsh is placing substantially lower and it isn't like Penn State won't have a stud lined up after Welsh. Now, can Taylor build enough quick enough that by spring of 2028 Ryder's points are the difference? That's the question. I say...unlikely, but if it's going to happen itl be 2028.

found the all-star match boring, Flo promoting an event when many of the top wrestlers not attending, attendance was minimal at best, the production was weak and the idiotic tee-shirt toss, time for new ideas or eliminate the event, the diss on Penn State not attending national duals was also problematic, 7 PSU wrestlers just wrestled at U23s in Serbia, maybe Flo should have watched Utah Valley match last night and saw what promotion and forward thinking can do, can't wait for PSU's match next week

If someone that finishes as a runner-up wants to transfer in , you let them. If Ryder doesn't think he can beat him, that is on Ryder. How is this different than when Dean transferred in and Beards left?

Exactly

People talk as if Cael pushed Ryder out the door. Rocco came here knowing he had to win the job; Zack chose to hand it to him.

JB talked at one point last night that he would deliberately take cautions on restarts to get more time and to get in the head of both his opponent and the ref.

1) he is something
2) getting in the head of the ref?

I like Ryder and had hoped he would have stayed at PSU. However, I’m not ready to give him the crown after one showing. Don’t forget Jaxon Smith was 1-1 against Gabe Arnold (both into OT) last year. Let’s give Rocco his turn before we declare a winner. I think they are very close in level so I do have to wonder why Ryder (having experience training and wrestling Rocco at KDs training center) was so quick to concede the spot. I like guys that seek out the best competition.

Give me guys like Henckle and Jayden James who seek to beat out the best of the best and let Taylor have the Zach Ryders of the world...

Smith is the James Franklin of college wresting. Super talented but gets destroyed by the best guys (PSU guys).

That DT had ZR ready to make a statement yesterday shouldn’t be a surprise. We knew ZR was going to be a contender from day 1

Admittedly it was not the best wrestling event, mostly because PSU was not there (and understandably so - 70% of the team and coaches were just in Serbia) and it seemed to lack a truly signature match like Ferrari - McNelly. That being said, I thought it was pretty good and most of the matches were competitive and really high quality wrestling. What disappointed me the most was that I did not see one high school wrestling team there. It was not crowded, the arena is very easy to travel to, parking was simple and entry was as easy at it gets. If you want to grow the sport, every high school team within 45 minutes should have been there to see some of the top college guys in the country. And FLO/Rutgers should have figured out how to make it free for these high school teams and maybe the arena could have been better filled. Just my $.02 observation and criticism of an otherwise very good event.

Ryder was a DT guy through and through. Forwent his SR year of HS to train with him at M2. No issues with Ryder leaving to follow DT.

I don't think I would trade either of the projected 84s on our roster for him. I'd like for someone to articulate an argument for why they would beyond "we had him and I wish he didn't leave so we could have all 3."

A little bit more to the whole situation with Ryder leaving and Rocco coming in 🤷
