57: RBY gets the 4 seed, which puts him against 5 Cruz in the quarters and then Lee in the semis if seeds hold.

97: Tazhudinov got the 1 seed, so Snyder can't face him until the finals. Sadulaev is unseeded.

Hilarious seeding at 92: Cornell grad Ben Honis got the 2 (competing for Italy), Hidlay got the 8. We all know who would win that H2H. The UWW seeding system is probably better than fully random draws, but every year at least one bracket resembles the bad English menu translation at a European restaurant.

Considering his age (Levi just turned 21 last month ) and relative inexperience in freestyle the fact he already has made our Senior World team bodes well for his freestyle career going forward. As Levi continues to develop his freestyle chops I could see him make some waves internationally. How soon that might be is anyone's guess, but Levi's work ethic, strength and solid fundamentals give him a great foundation to work off of as he moves forward in his freestyle career.

This is such a great recruiting advantage for Penn State. Just the possibility of being able to get in the extra training and potential international travel to help out your teammates who have made a World team has to be exciting for a recruit. And when they see all these Penn State wrestlers making World teams I'm sure it makes them think, "If I can be in that practice room maybe I can make a World team myself?"

97 kg preview:

I didn't realize Sadulaev got a 5-yr Schengen visa ban. This is probably why he's unseeded. If UWW can't find a way around that (or if they do and he's random drawn into the top half), then Snyder has an ideal path to the finals.

He's not seeded because he was at 92 kg last year, and ranking points don't carry across weight classes.

Sadulaev still has not received his visa, but Mamiashvili and the Russian Wrestling Federation have said they're doing everything they can to get Sadulaev in.
