So we'll come back to WB on 11/4 to start a stretch of 4 home games to end the season. The specter of bowl eligibility will still be dangling on the horizon with no games that will likely be considered unwinnable.

It seemingly starts easily enough with what was penciled in by most as a lock win for us, with Jacksonville State. However, I've seen a couple of their mid-week games this year, and I'm not sleeping on them. They aren't terrible. Also not sleeping on Vandy. They are pretty bad, but so are we. On paper, we should win these games on talent, but it would not be stunning if we lost either one.

UK looked unwinnable a few weeks ago, but it's still hard to say exactly what UK is this year. They trounced UF at home. Then they got trounced by UGA in their easiest SEC win of the year so far. We'll find out more about UK as they play UT, MSU and Bama before they come to WB. Still have to say we lose this one, but wouldn't say it's a lock.

As bad as we've been this year and as good as Clemson has been in recent years, we'd normally pencil this one in as a lock to lose. But their new offense under Riley is only putting up 24.5 ppg. Their D is still pretty good, though, allowing only 21.2 ppg. With their disappointing season and if they lose another game or two, we could catch them unmotivated and steal it at WB.

All that to say, who knows? It would almost be a mockery of the system if a team as bad as we are managed to scratch out 6 wins and got a bowl game. But, I suppose if you end a season like this one with 6 wins and a win over Clemson, you take it with a smile on your face.

My official prediction is 4-8, which is what I predicted pre-season if we lost to UNC. But we could get to 6 wins...........

I'd say 5-7. Jax State, Vandy and UK will be wins in my opinion. For the first time in a long time, Clemson will be laser focused on beating us and that isn't going to be a good thing.

Frankly, I'd rather go into the Clemson game with no hope of bowl eligibility than to go in with 5 wins and lose. That would be the dingleberries on top of the crap sundae that this season has been.

I'll agree for sure about the clemson part. We're pretty much all they have left (if they're honest with themselves). They'll beat us like a friggin drum this year. With our horrible D, it may be another 63-17.
I'm not confident in wins over Vandy and JSU..... Kentucky will walk us. The D (and OL) is totally to blame for it all.

Clemson is 4-3 and an obvious down year for them, and still has Notre Dame and UNC on the schedule, they may continue to have their own issues, who knows how they will be playing by the end of the year, in regards to responding to adversity they usually don't have.

On the flip side, where will our mindset be by then and who will be left to play from our roster and not injured.

Let's say Clemson comes in 6-5, losing 2 of their next 4 to ND and UNC. That will easily be their worst record since 2010. Their fans are already beyond frustrated. Clemson just isn't used to losing like this. Hopefully, if that were the case, we could catch them deflated.

Heaven forbid they cough up either the game at NC State or Ga Tech and need to beat us for bowl eligibility. I'm not sure their fans can even stomach the thought of having to beat us just to make a bowl.

We may lose to Clem, but I don't think they're capable of being laser focused on anything. By then they're going to be dealing with so much chaos and strife, it's going to be interesting to see how they handle it.

You guys are fooling yourselves (not said in a belligerent tone) if you don't think CU will be laser-focused on us. ESPECIALLY being that we beat them last year..... Either they need to beat us to be bowl eligible, or they're eligible and we're just their last game, dabo and gang will have them ready to play us.

I'm beginning to wonder if we'll be able to field a team by then! Geeze-Louise the injuries!!!

They are soft...we are soft....ain't gonna be any "man up" in this one. It will just be whoever still has feathers in their pillowcase at the end wins.

We looked pretty bad this time last year and pulled things together. Unless we get healthy in a hurry, the best we can hope for is 2 more wins. I hope I’m wrong.
