ESPN has us at a 70% chance to beat Missouri. Wish it was a night game, but does it even matter. Except for bad turnovers, don’t see a reason we lose this game. I don’t think you can match up physically. Wishful thinking, but that’s why we play the games.

Agreed, but I think both lines of scrimmage are hungry to impose their will, especially the defense. Those guys want to dominate. But I get it, it’s hard to keep 18-21 yr old guys focused, but they do have a lot to play for. They don’t know playoff odds are against them. They still have something to prove. Home game environment will be huge. Is their QB back for this game?

Unfortunately, this is exactly the type of game we lose. Missouri has been very suspect lately, but still lots of talent. They also have these dudes named Theo Wease and Luther Burden. Fairly quiet this season based on expectations, but this is exactly the type of game we have where dudes like that light us up.

It will be dark the entire second half, maybe most of the second quarter.

Last in saw, they were playing with a backup qb, which might explain the lower numbers.

We were given a 70.7% chance to beat them the last time they came to Columbia.

I have nightmares about that 2022 Mizzou game. It was a 4 pm kick at WB and the stadium was DEAD. Absolutely lifeless crowd. Unfortunately the team was dead too. It was as flat as I’ve ever seen us play. The book on Mizzou was that they had a weak offense. That weak offense sliced through our D like a knife through melted butter for a couple TDs to put the game away early.

Hope we can exorcise some ghosts in this game.

The crowd would have been OK if the team hadn't dragged it down. The Satterfield offense was still holding forth and we were terrible on offense in ways that had little to do with them. I can truly say that at no point beyond the first quarter were we in any danger of winning that game. The Mizzou fans I talked to were shocked. They all expected to get their @$$e$ beat.

I worry that we'll still be in a "patting ourselves on the back" state of mind. Grateful that it's a home game. If we're focused, we win.

That's the danger of the rat poison that Saban would talk about.

It takes great coaching to keep your team hungry each week. It sometimes seems silly from the outside, but that's why coaches like Kirby and Saban always poopoo their team's performances. Kirby would sometimes play the disrespect card, which seems ridiculous. But it's worked for the most part to keep his guys sharp and focused.

South Carolina wins this game. Missouri does not have Cody Schrader to bail them out of Columbia this year.
