....who schedules a three game series with an 8-44 team?

This is a no-win situation. Beat the AFA and it hurts the RPI, lose to the AFA and it kills your RPI.

I don't think it'll make that big of a difference in the big picture. With the conference schedule we play (UM, USC, Vandy, etc.), our RPI will be more than adequate.

That's pretty unusual for college baseball- home for three consecutive weekend series plus mid-week games at home in that stretch.

you seriously worried about RPI? Really? Because of 3 of our 60 games? Playing JSU and Alcorn probably hurt us more than playing Air Force. And playing 30 SEC games will more than make up for any crap non-conference games we play. We played a bunch of **** teams last year, and had a top 10 RPI at one point.

This board is amazing.

Seriously, who cares what their record was last year? That, and we just lost 2 of 3 to North fecking Florida. I could give 2 ***** what our RPI is right now.

Sorry but worrying about our RPI 3 games in reeks of ignorance. You know as well as I do that it will go up when the SEC starts up, so who gives a ****?

We are talking bad about them three games deep into the season. North Florida is actually a pretty legit team.

Remember, we were 5-5 at one point in the basketball season. Its not how you start, its how you finish. This team is just learning about itself. Just wait.

Pretty sure Doc had something to do with this. I'd like another shot at them in football after what they did to us in the Liberty Bowl in 91.

But, all teams play crappy teams like this every year. We play the SWAC schools in-state. The biggest purpose they serve is for our team to work on things in game situations and to get some plastic wins. Hopefully.

Air Force is coached by Mike Hutcheon, who used to coach under Polk

They have tried for two years to line up a series -- this is Polk playing a former pupil, like most of the rest of the non-conference schedule

whether Doc, Polk or LT thought this would be a good idea.

If you say it's Polk doing his own scheduling, then whatever, he'll have to live with the results.
