A fun new game that I have made up...

He goes off.
Afterwards, he takes off his shirt, flexes for the crowd while screaming and does 50 pushups at mid court with the Stansbury children and Meo sitting on his back while he proclaims, "This is my court and don't you forget it!" Rick mumbles something in a hoarse voice about taking care of the little things.....
We lose the next game and go to the NIT.

Judging by that comment it might be a safe bet to say running his mouth is what got him in trouble. Seriously how much of a dumbass do you have to be to say something like that.
The reason he didn't play is because Stansbury is stupid and had no idea he was any good.
