He laid into Scheyer once again deflecting from a Duke loss with something other than their play, by saying his staff got punched in the court storming. Said if there is proof of that he will apologize, but he is clearly skeptical. He also brought up Bilas history of complaining about officiating. Nice to hear a member of the sports media being honest about the pampered babies in Durham.

I doubt that that even happened. They cleared the Carolina fans from the court for the final .4 seconds and there weren't any Duke coaches or players that looked injured from the focus shots of the benches before the inbounds. It took a while to clear the court and for the officials to check if there was time left. If there were Duke coaches getting checked out by trainers and medical staff, I missed it.

People are losing track of the biggest disgrace - North Carolina fans storming the court!

It’s like once they got caught as the sport’s biggest cheaters of all time UNC-Cheats lost all claim to being a proud program, and now their fans act like Appy State…

I’ve got a question. Why in the world is UNC fans storming the court? That’s weird to me. They should be better than that. They were a slight underdog in that game.
they were 6.5 pt dogs at home. But yeah they are ranked, never should have happened but F it. It's Puke!!!

That's a stupid take. If his players and staff get assaulted that's a problem that should be addressed. It's not deflection if it happened. Teams are expected to lose games, not get attacked on their way out.

It's Duke, what does he expect from the most spoilt coaching staff in college basketball, they are always hyped up by ESPN

Bilas has lost all credibility. Same as Dykes.
he was so bummed at the last second shot from Trimble. you could tell he quickly diverted to complaining about the court storming.
that's so bad on a national broadcast. just sucked all the energy out. he's soooooo bad

About a thousand different videos have been shown thanks to different cameras and smart phones. No one has found anything besides a single fan throwing a plastic water bottle.

Biggest rivalry in college basketball, game winning shot, and the students celebrated.

Oh no! The horror. Students see a game winning shot over dook for the first time in their lives and they wanted to have fun with it.

It's not like when Duke students stormed the court at Cameron after beating Virginia Tech.

Did you go to college? Do you remember what it was like to attend sporting events in college?

Now imagine you just witnessed a game winner in the greatest rivalry in all of college basketball.

Nowadays there’s a gazillion cameras filming from every angle during those court stormings. I find it really hard to believe that Scheyer’s assistants could’ve been punched during all that without it being caught on film.

You'd have more credibility here if you admitted that the humiliating disgrace of being caught creating an entire fake academic department to keep imbeciles like Rashad McCants and Julius Peppers eligible while they did zero academic work for decades has reduced your program forever in the eyes of college basketball fans. And now your student body is over-celebrating everything in a futile effort to start from scratch to build an untainted legacy.

Simply because ESPN’s marketing department has labeled something “the greatest rivalry“ doesn’t mean that it actually is. And it is not.
But it definitely is. Two Blue Blood programs separated by 8 miles, so many legendary players, coaches, and games. And the matchups actually mean something. They often decide the ACC regular season championship.

And every single year they play the final regular season game either in Chapel Hill or Durham. That's senior night. The last home game for either UNC or Dook's seniors and early entrants (and occasionally the last home game for legendary coaches.) The emotions in those games are unreal. The possibility of your arch rival ruining your final home game ever is just so intense. I've often wondered why UK/Louisville isn't played on Senior Night instead of some random day in December.

I got all the credibility I needed back in December when I predicted UK would win the SEC, despite many on this board saying the season was lost and calling for Pope's firing.
You attended a school where Rashad McCants MADE THE DEAN'S LIST WITHOUT EVER GOING TO A CLASS OR WRITING A PAPER. IF you don't have the decency to be humiliated by that, you are a fool and a loser.

No, nitwit, it is impossible to say that anything is “definitely” the best rivalry, because that is a subjective standard, not an objective thing that can be definitively proven, and opinions vary from region to region.

And it also changes over time. For example, I remember growing up in the 70s, 80s to mid-90s when it was nationally accepted that the Kentucky/Indiana rivalry was the nation’s best and most passionate one. But then Indiana’s program declined and people stopped saying that. But that doesn’t mean it can’t become it again.

The Duke/UNC rivalry started getting that label when Duke Vitale and ESPN began relentlessly marketing it as such around the late-90s. But simply because ESPN wants us to think that doesn’t make it true. I think only on the East Coast is it universally accepted as such. Most of the rest of the country couldn’t give a **** about y’all.

At this moment in time you are correct. Many on this board won't accept it and want UK a part of the conversation.

I didn’t see a punch thrown but I did see a gaterade bottle get thrown at Scheyer’s head. 😂 I noticed it live. I figured he’d say something after I saw it too. The bottle looked empty and it didn’t hit him. He’s just whining because they lost and then they couldn’t take their players off the floor before the storming like K always did.

Also found it funny that after Trimble hit the shot and the place went nuts that Bilas went silent. He was probably trying to hold back tears.

I remember when Kellogg went silent when Brandon Knight beat OSU
