I don't blame him. Go get paid while you can. He is going to do well and is a tough kid. I am sure his agents(Rosenhouse) had a lot of influence on his decision.

Trade TJ and can probably get a first and a couple other pics and then slot Carter in as his replacement on a rookie contract.

He's entering the final year of his contract with a $30 million cap hit. Teams don't give up 5 year's worth of a rookie contract for that, especially when it would need to be a top 4-5 pick. The return wouldn't be high.

I know. The money is the bottom line here despite TJ still being at the top of his game. I hope they don’t hold onto him too long. He deserves a shot at a title, even if it isn’t with the Steelers and the Steelers need all the cap space they can get to fix the myriad of other issues.

Carter also did a good job cleaning up the offsides penalties. Once he adjusted to playing on the line, he really flourished.

Right now, he's going to be a top-10 draft pick, and top-5 is not out of the question.

If he stays, he has nothing to gain because his stock is already at its peak. By returning for another year of college ball, he can only hurt himself physically, or have a not-so-good season, and risk becoming a lesser pick.
