More ''off season filler'' and something to talk about besides all the recruits we are losing?
In the summer and fall of 1953 as the ACC was starting up, WV was one of the schools up for consideration as an 8th member by the 7 charter members. Of course, UVA was offered and accepted the invitation in December 1953. WV moved on, and at this point, there's probably no interest.I'd like to see them offer WV and then hear WV tell them to pound sand.
Perhaps. I do remember the acc giving them the cold shoulder when they jumped over them and went after BC, Syracuse and Pitt. I mean I get the tv market argument but geographically imo WV made a lot of sense as part of the acc. I can tell you this, for many years after that expansion, WV destroyed the acc in just about every sport they played in. It was glorious. In the summer and fall of 1953 as the ACC was starting up, WV was one of the schools up for consideration as an 8th member by the 7 charter members. From a geographic standpoint, Pitt, Penn St, and WV should be in the same conference. But that ship sailed in 1990 when the Nittany Lions joined the B1G.
