That's a thought, but I don't watch 11pm EDT football games which are just so so games. I'd rather watch a replay of an SEC game I might have missed.
I'm just the opposite. I don't watch replays of games that I already know the score of except for Carolina. So I will flip it to a game I don't know the result of.....see some pretty good football.

I find watching those replays, especially of future Gamecock opponents, gives me an opportunity to watch from a different perspective. Watching the little things like off the ball stuff, alignments, and scouting type stuff.

I'm not saying they're wrong. Maybe I am, who knows. But if I am right, and the ACC remains intact, I'm going to be insufferable on this board for a few days.

Warm up your keyboard then. Adding those teams or not, the ACC looks to be remaining I tact until this all starts over again next summer.

I don't believe they will be the first. There is one school who has been very quiet and I understand wants to leave as much or more than they do.,,,,and they know where they are going.

Not sure if they care if they are first. But I echo pimps sentiment that the clemson people I see are quite confident they are leaving. (A year or two is the window I've seen)

Same window that I've heard.....the PAC additions (if it happens) could delay it some, but it is just a stop-gap measure at best.

I will also say i don’t see any of the ACC teams making a move this year or even next. They simply don’t have to. The money disparity doesn’t go in effect for 1 or 2 years, I can’t remember which. With that said, why leave so soon and risk paying more? It also could be that the plan is made and for whatever reason that certain broadcast company doesn’t want to pull the trigger yet. Both have talked about slow playing this thing. I think that’s what they mean .

I'd say it's in effect right now, only it's going to get bigger.

With the addition of the west coast schools, I can see the new ACC moniker now:

Welcome to the ACC - Home of Tobacco Road and Ganja Freeway

That’s because projections show that with the ACC giving more money to the football powers it will put Clemson and FSU over 50 million. Bandaid for sure but certainly an increase.
So, what will Va. Tech get? UVA? N.C. State? Louisville? This ain't gonna go down well. This ain't gonna heal the league.

I would like to see how he is making this "deal that brings more money to the conference and adds teams that brings value" look good on paper as a long term solution.
This is one of those  situations.

It won’t work in the long term, I have never said it would. With that said have they not agreed to unequal revenue sharing?

They have dangled the possibility, but it has not been formalized and announced. All it will mean is that the people having trouble competing will become even less able to compete.

Sounds like to me it’s official.

UVA will be taken care of on the bball side. Depending on how it’s structured, NCST is always around that 8 win mark. And they’re usually a bball tourny team. Louisville will just be happy not get banished to CUSA. VT will be interesting. They think highly of themselves, but suck in football and basketball.

There's no way that the additional money the ACC is projecting, once divided, serves as more than an appetizer. As for Va. Tech, they have been way behind in facilities, although they are trying to make inroads. Their money still ain't good. https://www.espn.com/college-footba...-tech-frank-beamer-unraveling-hokies-get-back

ESPN reporting that there is "continued momentum" towards the additions. This thing is moving excruciatingly slowly.

Inching those "rescue fees" higher and higher takes time and slow twisting of arms.
Along with deciding which schools are going to get what from the projected pot. The short end of the stick is coming for some ACC schools.

That might not be such a bad thing. Maybe some schools will start putting forth an effort in football.

It won't have that effect to any extent. Football ascendancy requires both will and resources. If either aspect has a low ceiling, the program will not advance.

Sounds like a vote to be held tonight.

One would assume they would not call for a formal vote if they didn't think they had the votes. But many assumptions have been proved wrong with realignment.

OSU and WSU will be relegated from the fringe of relevance to total irrelevance in the AAC or MWC.

And that could also happen to lower-tier schools in other leagues as the super-conferences shake out. Expansion will involve some sculpting.

Don’t disagree. But have you seen Wake’s new facility upgrades? Very impressive, actually.

And Vandy's are going to be. But the SEC will not drop Nashville. Lots of people love going to Nashville. I'm one of them.

I’m not saying they would but I don’t think they are thinking about people traveling when these deals are made. It’s about eyes on tv’s not traveling.

Just like rougue is convinced the big won’t take a non AAU school. I still believe they will do whatever FOX wants them to do. Even if that’s taking Clemson and Florida state. Again I’m not saying that let will just that I don’t think it will stop them. Still tons of smoke that the big is interested in those schools .

I think the fact that the SEC has remained contiguous, and I believe will remain contiguous, says something about its philosophy regarding fan involvement. Tell you what, I'd rather attend two road conference games than four at home. I've had a lot of fun on the road.
