What is crazy is BAMA claims 1941 as a Natty and we beat them 14-0 in Tuscaloosa that year and MSU was SEC Champs. Heck Vandy beat BAMA that year.

I knew we won the SEC in 1941, but didn't know it was a NC year. I imagine we would have been in the top 5 that year for sure. OM claims 3 NCs in football, but only one was reasonably legit, but in some ways, suspect.

Exactly. We beat them head to head. We won the SEC that year. If they claim it, we can claim it and then punk them for claiming it. If anything, CZA needs to lead off SEC Media days with this and clearly state that MSU claims it.
Minnesota was the actual national champ. But a case could be made that we also deserve it. Bama doesn't in any way deserve it.
I believe that Minnesota was the actual AP voted NC in 1941 although we should claim it. We definitely have more of a claim than 20th ranked Alabama. When questioned their AD said they had a real good team in 1941 and both games that they lost were played in the rain. They felt like on a dry field they win against us and Vandy. Yes, that is a load of crap. Hang a banner!
