I think Kyle Whittingham would be the best choice for UF. He has continued the success that Meyer had at Utah and actually may have surpassed it. He runs the same system and being a defensive coach, could get better athletes for defense in the South. Meyer would also be there to help with connections in recruiting for a guy who hasn't coached in the South. On the other hand, if UF does come and get Mullen, Byrne has much more ammunition to go after a coach this time.

before Meyer and Mullen rolled in from Bowling Green.
Meyer is NOT going to allow that to happen.

It does not make sense for it to be Mullen and not announce it now. By announcing it now it allows both UF and MSU to hit the ground running as far as recruiting is concerned and with rebuilding both staffs. Urban Meyer is known as being a good person and he would absolutely know that stringing MSU along for a week would hurt MSU's 2009-10 recruiting and re-staffing.

That's why I think the next coach is involved in his own bowl game. Utah has played it's bowl---if it was Whittingham he would be in Florida now.

I think it is Stoops of Oklahoma.
I believe the talk of Mullens was UM way of getting Mullen some well deserved attention in the national press over the bowl weekends to come.

I just don't believe that either Meyer or Mullen would allow anything to string along that would hurt a program either had been in. They left Bowling Green and Utah on great terms with both schools.
