Without a dominate big we are at best a 7 seed imho. After watching some teams this weekend, it’s hard for me to see us as a top 10 team. Top 15-20, sure, at best.

The SEC is a sledge hammer this year

In order for us to take the next step, without a dominant big, we would need Clary and Claudell to step it up on the parameter….big time

Memphis will be a better measurement for how good we are. There are a lot of really good big men on great teams and we have no defense for them.

One thing is certain, our depth is giving teams problems. Every player on tonight’s roster scored at least 1 pt. I’ve never seen that before.

We're clearly pretty good. I'll reserve Top 10 talk for when we have some data on how we look against Top 15 caliber teams. Plenty of opportunities ahead.

Usual early season we great just to be humbled by seasons end. Wait till next year before throwing out how great this team is. Still gotta play the SEC schedule....

I'll say I am slowly coming around. Not sure how good Unlv is but it was definitely a good neutral site win. It might take a bad loss with a 1 for 20 3 pt shooting night to convince me otherwise, but I think this team is pretty good. Claudell is a concern when he throws up 3 after 3 wide open and doesn't come close to making them. And 23 struggles from the FT line where he is going to spend a lot of time this year. Tonight the defensive effort was there and there were some Ricky tack fouls called on out defense. But they had to work to get shots or get fouled so I'm good with that D effort.

Well we just destroyed UNLV who just lost to a Memphis team (who just was runner up in the Maui inv) by 6. I think we very well could be.

Very impressive, at times UNLV looked like they didn’t belong in the same gym as us. If I had to nitpick I would say we actually should have won by even more. I believe we only shot around 40% from the field and for stretches in the 2nd half it was brick city. We will need to shoot better against tougher competition. Loved the hustle on D and on the glass, we were dominant on the boards. In the first half the refs were definitely trying their best to keep UNLV in the game, calling us for every little thing while they mugged us on several occasions with no call.

Looking forward to see how we look with only 24 hours rest against Butler. They were a NIT team last year and it looks like they returned their key players. Don’t know much else about them except Caitlin Clark’s boyfriend’s brother is on the team. I’m guessing they are probably something like a bubble team this year. We actually have a common opponent, they played SMU at home and won by 9. Their loss came to Austin Peay who doesn’t seem that good.

Get Bowers to talk to this team about winning road games. They have the potential.

Auburn and Alabama are top 10. Auburn might be top 2.

We have got to have a couple other guys start making open 3’s to reach our potential. We will have to knock down shots to hang with top teams or a team with size like Auburn.

We got a top 10 team, a 4 seed at worse tournament team. 17 the egg this year. Get on board or get the 17 out. I been saying it since preseason. I love this team. Wake up!
You forgot how much our fans hate our program and want to predict how we will fail, not just football, but all sports.

Big Game tonight! We will see if they are legit when they face the SEC gauntlet. Go 10-8, 11-7 SEC and this may be a Sweet 16 team finally. Got to get a 7 seed or higher to have a chance at Sweet 16 and that will require a winning SEC record and probably a win or 2 in the SEC tourney. It is just so hard wh n your conference is Loooaaddded

Put some respect on my name (gas huffer by some idiot that thinks of a lawn mower when he read my username).

I will say I didn't think the SEC was this good preseason, gonna be a gauntlet. I won't bump again til the end of the season, I don't promise. If we didn't have a terrible shooting night against Butler, we're #1 right now. Nobody is 7-0 in quad 1/2 right now. We are 6-1.

In the interest of accuracy, I think we're 5-1 vs Quad 1/2 right now.

Looks like the only better records are Auburn and Oregon at 6-1.

Oklahoma is 12-0 and 4-0 vs Quad 1/2, but they haven't played anybody who is a clear Top 25 kinda team. And they've had quite a few close games. All the way down at 41 in the NET. Their first SEC game vs Bama will tell a lot.

Thanks to the use of that logo, I couldn't find us on the list.

Let’s Imagine you actually did not see State in the list. There is no way you would know what logo was used unless you saw it. I smell a rat.
Of course i saw it...after I read it through 4 times, and my eyes went right past it every time. I've just been completely accustomed to looking for the maroon banner m....and in the off times when the interns at espn butcher us, a green banner m

I think we are a Sweet 16 team. Anything less than making the round of 32 will be a major disappointment.

The scheduling under Stans cost us 4 NCAA Tournament appearances. There has been nothing more improved in our athletic department in the past 20 years than the basketball scheduling. Cheating the NET by playing three neutral site games in the state is next level thinking by someone.

We are a solid 3/4 seed with a chance to play up to a 1/2 and if we go 9-9 we will be no worse than a 6. Got to defend the home court because every road game we have will be a rock fight.

Our improved basketball scheduling is a very recent development. Our scheduling sucked under Howland and wasn't great in Jans's first year. It's much better now.
