Actually, it's Nick Saban complaining.
It's comical too as the REC (Red Elephant Club) was basically NIL before NIL was even a thought. I believe they paid off a couple million on his lake house not to mention the Dodger Charger give away for a decade in T-Town, which was clearly done on the up and up...wink, wink. Now that it's above the table....it's not fair as others can possibly offer more in better areas than he can in T-Town.

Say what you want about his ulterior motives, but at least he’s openly speaking out on a National stage and naming names. For the most part other coaches are just hiding in the weeds, and hesitant to be quoted on how to address and manage the issue.
^^^^^This.^^^^

There should be A Collective voice from all coaches, athletic directors and university presidents across the college football landscape for a manageable process. Crickets.

Figure out what you want collectively and what it will take to get it and quit sitting on your hands while fans get fleeced, the cottage industry surrounding NIL grows and the folks who got run over being deers in the headlights appear to now be sitting around with their mouths open catching flies.

Who is taking the soap box or podium and screaming in the public realm other than Saban?

Saban's motives aren't altruistic - it's survival......

They still get the Chargers BTW.

Nick Saban questions the lack of parity in college football, particularly when it comes to NIL.

Leave it up to Alabama head coach Nick Saban to question the lack of parity across major college football.

The Crimson Tide have been nothing short of dynastic since Saban took over in Tuscaloosa in 2007. Seven College Football Playoff appearances and six national championships later, Saban is still somehow not satisfied. During the SEC spring meetings this past week, Saban offered his opinion on the wonderful world of NIL. He held nothing back, and actually named a few teams…

Let's just say Saban is not a fan of what Texas, Texas A&M and USC are doing in the NIL sphere.

NIL should concern many SEC schools not based in TX, Saban is the first to figure it out in the wild west days of NIL. BIG schools have wealthier alumni and are especially well placed in corporate America. Without parity in access to cash, the advantages will slip away. NIL is a vehicle for unlocking the stranglehold the SEC has enjoyed. The DL from Georgia who went to USC should scare all the conferences not named BIG

I completely agree with your post. In time NIL can prove to be the vehicle that neutralizes the SEC juggernaut on college football. If landing elite HS talent solely depends on money all roads will point to the B10 and PAC-12. These schools in my opinion have the wealthiest alumni base. Then the question becomes, how does an AD persuade an even larger percentage of its alumni base to give even more money?

Saban never won anything until he got to a place he could stretch the rules and break them as well. He regularly cut down his roster after Spring practice and over recruited against the 85 limit.

So now that his program does not have EVERY advantage over every other program he is crying.

So sad.........
