And let us enjoy this win. You don’t deserve it and I want to celebrate this with good high quality people and great fans. Please leave us alone tonight. We have to endure so much from all of you. This win is as sweet as beating clempson because I know how much it hurts them when we beat them. It is the same feeling for me now. This hurts you so much we won that the only way for you to save face is to act holier than thou and lower yourselves to a back handed compliment. You mean nothing to this celebration and don’t deserve it. Please…….go away.

just because fans had doubts about this game doesn't mean they are haters so stop labeling us. I'm been a gamecock fan since 1966. Glad I was wrong about tonight but there were legiitmate grounds for doubting based on our record and performance before tonight. I do hope it carries over for next week.

Having doubts is one thing, but calling for a complete overhaul of the staff is quite another, and way to many people were trashing the entire staff and University.

Exactly!! I had the same doubts as everyone else but I didn’t use this forum as a way to make myself feel better by belittling others as ALL THESE HATERS DO ALL THE TIME!! Go. Away. Forever.

Glad we won but why does it take Gamecock Nation to get on Beamers *** for him and the assistants to get the team ready to play?

So, 1 great game supersedes the dozen or so ****** games? Which is it? An upset or should we have been playing this way all along?

Great, great win. Shocking actually. But let’s not get carried away. Personally, I’m hoping Syvelle Newton is correct and we should have been playing this well all along. But what does that say about coaching?

Many said we didn't have the horses on offense to compete. Simply not true.

Truth is the Vols defense was a sheep in wolf's clothing. Their secondary has been their weakness all year. We needed to attack by air and we needed Rattler to have a good day. Hats off to him and the gameplan. Freek'n awesome job by the players and coaches. Wish I could say we've had a good gameplan geared to all our opponents' weaknesses this year but we havent.
But what does bode well is the Vols' weakness is also the tater's weakness. If I was a tater, I woke up this morning concerned.

My one and only issue has been with the OC. Our offense has not shown any signs until last night. Would love to know what changed.

Not shown any signs? That's just not true. The offense has had several good games, a few few bad ones. The problem is we have a few football morons that think we should score 60 points every game. That's not the way it works in the SEC, especially when you are rebuilding.

Everybody wishes that. On every team out there. It's called perfection, and few rarely achieve it. Not sure why our fanbase thinks that was going to happen year 2. Just not realistic. Everybody has been nut hugging Heupel and Tennessee all year. How do you think their fans feel about that game plan for them last night?

I never said that 1 game supersedes all the others. Of course we can count on your posts to rain on the parade. At least you’re consistent.

Which games did we play well on offense and which not?

Great win last night and we are all celebrating and hope this carries forward to next week. But we also need to be looking at the long term. If this was a response to an ultimatum to Satt from Beamer then my hats off to Shane!

If it took Satt this long to figure it out - that's a problem. If Satt was holding this in his back pocket - that's a problem (could have had at least 2 more wins).
So, one good offensive game for the season is still a problem.
The offensive weapons have been there all season but were being misused and poorly schemed.
The OL is not an excuse as the OL is the OC's responsibility along with his line coach.

Let's see what happens next week and hopefully Shane will evaluate the season as a whole and determine the best way forward for his tenure here at Carolina.

Let's be honest though. There was ample reason for concern. We had the second worst offense in the SEC going into that game. Tennessee had the second worst defense and its secondary was a few spots above the absolute bottom in college football. The stars aligned and Rattler received good protection and got hot. No one has ever doubted his raw ability. If he can even be half as good in games against decent defenses, we'll be in good shape.

Satterfield was definitely not following the same playbook. The O-line was actually blocking well. One might say this was capturing lightning in a bottle, but I think it's more like some people decided this late in the season to just try doing things a little differently and let the chips fall where they may.

Ah, I'll give the AD, that's a common theme. I just saw a lot of people banging on the OC, and a very few saying that Beamer should get the axe too. Just my impression
The usual suspects, oh and Coastal hasn’t Posted a Chadwell thread yet...

I noticed the OL regressed a bit in the 2nd half and there were adjustments made to help block, namely an H back to block. The main differences I saw were the Wildcat, which UT likely had not game planned for and of course the RB was not the usual guy. That was a stroke of genius by somebody. It appears Beamer had determined they would not punt if at all possible. They weren't out there to avoid a shutout with FGs. I have the feeling Beamer handed this week's playbook to Satt. Or maybe the handcuffs came off Satt and we'll see more of this type of play. I hope the latter is true.

One punt. I bet our punter enjoyed the downtime.

My comments.

Vols were unprepared for what we brought to the table. You never wish injuries on anyone, but I imagine it would have been a different game with Lloyd and Beal-Smith healthy.

I was an admitted skeptic. My initial thoughts after we went up 7-0 was that the final score would be 45-7 UT. Glad to be wrong.

Sometimes you have a hot shooting night on the court. Sometimes you go 4-5 at the plate. And sometimes the passing/receiving is spot on.

To quote Tommy Suggs: "This is fun."

But many on here don’t want to stop with firing the OC...which was my point.
Wingchun I usually agree with your posts...but not this one. Most of the fans on here have been complaining about the complexity and lack of creativity with the OC and his playcalling. Last night was a pleasant surprise....but where the heck has that been all year? It appeared that the reads had been simplified and Rattler was playing much faster...especially in decision-making. If we had that kind of playcalling all year....no one would be complaining.

No one is a "hater" here. Everyone here wants the best for South Carolina football. The offense has been a concern for the past 2 seasons. Even after last night's performance, the offense is only 77th in the nation out of 131 teams. That's average. And never, never in Satterfield's time as OC at Temple, as well as here, has he ever produced a Top 50 offense. EVER!!! I am very happy about last night's game. That being said, I did not recognize last night's offense. I received a text from someone on another site saying that an "insider" stated he does not believe that the game plan nor play-calling was done by Satterfield. Sources said it was a "team effort", with play-calling being made from the booth. Personally, I don't know. BUT,I do KNOW this; whatever it was, they need to take the same approach next week.

Beamer in the post game said Satterfield called the game.

But your text from someone on another site about what some unknown insider "believes" sounds legit. LOL

Unreal.

I absolutely loathe self righteous pumpers. The fact is, this football program has A LOT of growing to do, and last night was COMPLETELY unexpected. Don’t act like Satterfield and Rattler came alive because of your fan support, lol.

I don't see anybody claiming that. But ask the coaches how they feel about fan support during tough times and see what they say. Ask them how they feel about constantly crying and complaining negativity around a program. I know what they will say.
