It is odd to think Satterfield called a couple dozen bad games, but then once or twice a year suddenly decides to get aggressive and call a good game.
You do that. And go watch last night's post game as Beamer railed on the media for their negativity all week.
Like he said, they don't get to write the story of this team. And neither to a bunch of crybaby losers on this board.
Past 15+ seasons. To be honest, I don't ever remember an offensive performance like last night.

I go back to 1964 following this program. It's the best offensive game we have played in my memory. Now, Holtz was right about one thing - and we've seen it borne out in the SEC this year. "Things are never as good as they seem; things are never as bad as they seem." We have lived out that maxim over the course of the past seven days.
Take the cases of LSU and Tennessee. LSU loses it's opener largely because of a missed extra point. They get drilled at home later in the year by Tennessee - drilled. Tennessee wins that game and they also win at home vs. Alabama (we should have known then they didn't have any defense), but Tennessee, despite its loss to Georgia, finds itself with a realistic path to the CFP - until a day ago. Today, it's LSU, the team they pummelled, that has the true path to the CFP and Tennessee is out.
As for us, euphoria understandably rules the day, but we have to validate. It's UPC Week now, y'all. That used to mean something around here.
As has always been the case for any sports team, their fate is in their own hands. To think differently, is actually a loser's mentality.

Choosing to downplay the excellent performance last night is glass half empty thinking. This was SR’s 11th game in Satt’s system. Maybe the light finally came on for him. In law school, we used to prep for finals. You started w/ a “C” understanding. In trying to get to an “A” understanding, you might get lost & have less than a “C” understanding. If your exam time caught you “in the sub-‘C’ wilderness”, you did poorly. That’s my take.
We’ll see next Saturday at noon.

Well as far as against UT is concerned, it has NEVER happened from another SEC team. Not even Spurrier and his UF teams

Nobody is downplaying a great victory last night but looking at the season as a whole and long term.
If it took Satt this long to figure it out - that's a problem. If Satt was holding this in his back pocket - that's a problem (could have had at least 2 more wins).
Only one good offensive game for the season is still a problem.
The offensive weapons have been there all season but were being misused and poorly schemed.
The OL is not an excuse as the OL is the OC's responsibility along with his line coach.
Hope it carries over to next week.
The bottom-line is that Beamer will decide Satterfield's fate at the end of the season. One poster said last week that Satterfield and Adkins were the only coaches on the staff not to get a contract extension and pay raise after last season. If true, that tells me that Beamer is aware of problems that have been on offense. This is one of those "Stay Tuned" situations.
And you should go back and read that Chris Clark posted what Beamer said long AFTER I quoted my nephew.
Hilarious that some think that a great game at the end of the season means the coaches failed because they should have been able to do that since game 1. Clueless.

Yes, I trained in Wing Chun for about 9 years, under Francis Fong and Ip Ching organization here in the US.
Awesome! I had the privilege of training with Master Fong this past summer in Cola. I also went to a seminar with Garner Pain in Charlotte this year. I like Wing Chun. I practice MMA but my Soke and I work on WC on our time.
Coaches are paid a lot of money to win games being played for entertainment. If you want to get technical, they work for us. We owe them nothing. I don’t recall seeing posts calling for a complete overhaul. I’ve seen posts calling for Satt to be gone, and I’ve seen a few calling out at times the OL, DL and LBs. I’ve also seen some questioning why not more Doty and Dak. Nothing different than any other fan base.
Simplifying the plays on a pro-style offense by getting rid of the variations to the plays can make it much easier for both the oline and the QB because there are fewer, if any, reads that need to be made. Both are on the same page and don't have to read the defense and can simply react. One purpose of the spread is to take out those reads in the first place....just run the play called...no variations.
And I did watch the game....from the stands. Could easily see each play develop.

I think it was a combination of simplifying things and our QB was on fire. That’s a good combination
I train with Soke Matt Avant at Toe 2 Toe MMA. He trained under Garner Train who of course is a student of Ip Ching. Matt also trained with Master Fong for a short time.

Same...and SB. SB goes hand and hand with this OC....and one game this year ain't enough to save that job. It's off with the OC or else spotlight becomes bright on Beamer and his decision making process. Our offense is a problem...obviously.
The best thing would be if validation were to come. But validation lies in the future, starting Saturday.
