Allar reminds me of Collins in '94 so far.

No. Salaam won the Heisman in 1994. Sadly he died in 2016 at the age of 42.

My bad, must be getting old

To the OP. He reminds me of Big Ben. Love his movement when he feels pressure. Always looking to throw first but will take advantage of any running lanes. Seems willing to take more chances this year. So far, so good

The defense was good in 1994 but they had so many injuries to that unit throughout the year. It also doesn’t help when your offense keeps scoring a td every 50 seconds.

Allar comparison to Collins stops at they were and are, both qbs for psu. Other than that there is no comparison.
Allar has a long way to go. Why would you rank him higher than somebody like Daryll Clark at this point? Clark's record was 22-4 at PSU and he had 24 TD passes in one season.

He may have cost Ki-Jana a Heisman too. Tough to argue with pulling him with a big lead to put in Archie and Pitts, but Salaam benefitted from that to claim the trophy.
Just so we don’t revise history: Kijana played the equivalent of 7 3/4 games that season for two reasons: 1) the offense blew out b10 teams often by halftime and 2) he sustained a hand injury and played with a cast on his left hand after game 8. Anybody who watches football could clearly tell he was the best offensive weapon in cfb in 1994, as Oregon found out on the first play of the Rose Bowl.

I truly consider 2005 and 2008 legit #1 contending teams that came up short but were worthy

not 1994 which was the single greatest PSU team
