Kentucky played well but that was not a Jans defense.

death, taxes, and msu losing to Kentucky in basketball.
Like last 15 years of the same. We can beat anyone but somehow always manage to lose to them. Don't know what it is. Maybe Kentucky comes in and gives it their best against us every time I don't know. But if you told me we would score in the 90s we would have beaten the crap out of them.

Yes, preacher, I’m a state fan & alumnus & have been for decades. Grew up in starkville in 80s, student in 90s & have watched more nights like this in all MSU sports than I care to remember.
Great opportunity but didn’t get it done

The vast majority of times we don’t. Only once in my years of being a state fan have we exceeded expectations.

Ok, just asking because I haven't seen you around here. You only have 28 posts so far. It really was a sincere question.

17 Kentucky! 17 the refs! And 17 the SEC!

Not in my emotions if we can get Hub going, we'll be fine.

The good news my four year old is all dawg much to his Kentucky momma's chagrin. The bad news I'm pretty sure I'm sharing a bed with him tonight.

Edit for one last thing: Hail 17ing State! I'll roll with our guys against anyone.

I don't think we choked so much as Kentucky played great. They’re good. Really good. They’ve got 3 top 10 wins. But I think the difference in the game is they shot the ball better than their ability.
And let’s be honest. “They” was really Robinson. If that $hithead just goes 3-6 instead of 7-10, it’s a completely different ballgame.

Every damn year. I remember when Cal got tossed and we had them dead to right a few years ago only for some freshman that averaged 3 pts/gm to come in and knock down 6-7 threes. I hate that team

Yes. We didn’t defend the 3 at all tonight.
Exactly. People act like 3-pointers are random dice rolls….and they just kept getting lucky. BS. I think maybe 2 of their 30-something attempts were even remotely contested. The rest were all either wide open, or taken with at least a 4 foot cushion.

When you don’t defend the perimeter at all against a Top 10 team, you’re gonna pay for it just about every time. It was the exact same thing last year. Pope probably just popped in last year’s tape and just said “yep, we’re gonna just do that same thing again”. We let them dictate the pace and the flow, and we tried to beat them at their own game.

They are a little better than us and had us tonight. That's a legit top 10 team but we can take them. No reason to get down on this team yet.

When the game turns into target practice, it's just going to happen at times

You didn't watch the game, or if you did you weren't paying attention.

Yes we did. I lot of the ones they made were well contested, and a few were just circus shots.
Kentucky was much better at moving the ball, moving on offense and setting picks to get better looks. You can tell they work on it. I'm guessing they had a good talk after the Georgia game. Freaking GEORGIA, who doesn't even care about basketball.

What is the deal with so many of you turning into Genespage sheep lately? Whining about trolls and post count instead of just dealing with folks in SPS fashion.

And hell if you can’t come on this board and trash an MSU choke, then we’ve lost our edge.

There were open shots in the first half. Wide open. They were running screens to get guys open and it was working well. Second half was a different story. State was much more active getting around and fight through the screens and many of those threes made were contested. Of wide open threes I bet they shot 80 percent which is pretty wild.
