Michigan's AD and the police department are investigating another fight in the tunnel after the game last night between Michigan and Michigan State. Videos that are being shared on social media shows Michigan players surrounding a MSU player throwing punches and kicking at fellow Wolverines. During Harbaugh's press conference, Jim Harbaugh was visibly upset and talked about all the recent incidents between teams in the tunnel and why this has become a problem. https://www.espn.com/college-footba...police-investigating-scuffle-michigan-st-game

You would think by now to avoid these confrontations you agree prior to the game to separately enter/exit the tunnels. Or here is another idea; with all the money U of M has you construct some physical barrier in that tunnel. Having players in close proximity after a heated rival game is never a good idea.

I meant it being an isolated incident regarding only Penn State. I didn’t say we were without blame

Clearly a major issue with a group of MSU players who appeared to assault a Michigan player who I believe was out of pads and recovering from an injury.
MSU has a real culture problem from the looks of the vides
and
Coach Franklin was 100% correct to point out the issue with 1 tunnel.

The Michigan response was 90 plus years and Franklin says its a problem
Lots of things have existed for decades and eliminating them are now viewed as a cause for celebration.

Did he blame Franklin again.

It looked like the msu players were fighting the um player in a doorway off the main tunnel corridor. Do those doors go to the msu locker room? Is it possible that the um player followed the msu players to their locker room jawing or pushing? None of that would justify the fight we saw, but I wonder what led to the fight. Who instigated it? Also, who recorded it?

Interesting takes here, only because we still have to play them. Until all the facts and information are in, no one here is really screaming for the expulsion of players, firing of coaches and the cancellation of MSU’s season. This is in sharp contrast to the Rutgers Board who also have yet to play them, and are in desperate search of another victory. RU people are screaming for all three to occur, at least deplete MSU’s roster before RU plays them. Yep, typical responses from the new BIG powerhouse that also saved the BIG from financial ruin. BobPSU92 may disagree, but I hate us a little less today for our more balanced replies.

Uhhhhh…..

This take is stupid. Psu has two tunnels and Not same tunnel. That Michigan player was taunting them before they went in and one pic shows he was way ahead of his team. Harbaugh was told about this and waved it off weeks ago. Now he is “whining” about his players getting crushed in that very same tunnel.

I'm absolutely against the effing violence - especially this one against the scUM player - but a good part of all of this tunnel BS falls on Harbaugh and Michigan. They've been instigating this tunnel crap for years. They've had multiple incidents - seems like a couple every year.

I can't stand OSU but I absolutely hate those arrogant a-holes from the self-proclaimed "Harvard of the Midwest." Here's another video during halftime of last year's OSU-scUM game when OSU was going into the locker room followed by scUM players following them and yelling insults and flipping the fingers. And you'll see Harbaugh right in the middle of them

Watching English Premier League, it is the standard for there to be one tunnel. I’m sure a scuffle happens here and there in a tunnel, but I haven’t seen one. When they show the teams in the tunnel before the match, a few players on opposing teams shake hands or they just ignore each other. Also, it is customary for the home team to be accompanied in the tunnel by kids, which probably helps to keep the players on their best behavior.

In any case, a single tunnel works in English Premier League. Of course, there are fewer players in soccer, and most of them are quite a bit older than college kids. Still, it works over there.

I would not want to be an official walking up that tunnel between the teams. That, in my mind, is above and beyond the job description.
The tunnel is a confined area and it appears that the locker room entry also restricts the flow of people.

Simple Dibbs solution is to have officials hold UM team on the field, not permitted to enter the tunnel until opponent is inside their locker room. At that point, the halftime clock starts running and the opponent gets a small time advantage.
